Lime Rock lodging

Post by cuda6666 » Fri Oct 26, 2007 2:07 pm

What was the name of that motel on the right just as you're coming into Great Barrington? I got there on Friday evening last year and there was a dead Miata sitting on a trailer in front of the office. Anyone remember?

Thanks Mark, but that doesn't sound like it. I was hoping the Miata reference would ring a bell. Could it be the Briarcliff? It was a really basic place (cheap) - just my style.

FYI: there is a new B&B with either separate rooms for ?$$? or a room with 2 top/bottom bunk beds and separate bed. Cost for bunk is a mere $30/night and the bunk guys share a bathroom, it has a TV with DSS reception...

These are some nice racer folks who are also track workers P/T and they bought the house as a place for them to stay and rent out to racers for dirt cheap. Awesome memorabillia (signed by PJN, etc) on the walls. It is really nice, they re-did the bunk room with new wood flooring/etc.

Be nice to these folks and don't blow it or give a bad name to COMSCC.

Location is JUST past the main LRP entrance... house is to the right.

It hadn't even occurred to me to trash the place until you mentioned it :P

Meadow House, built in 1850, is a true English Farmhouse that overlooks Lime Rock Park's main gate meadow.

This very unique B&B ("Bunkhouse & Bedrooms") offers friendly fares in either the five bed "Bunkhouse" or two private, traditional Main House Bedrooms.

The Bunkhouse is a new, cabin-like, race track themed room complete with fireplace, kitchenette, shower, new bunk beds and satelite T.V. - all under a notty pine cathedral ceiling.

If you prefer private accommodations, the Main House offers two fully appointed, country bedrooms, with "pillow top" or "temprapaedic" new mattresses in one Queen Bedroom and one queen plus one futon lounge/twin bed. These lovely rooms overlook either Lime Rock Park's lush meadow or the beautiful hillside and English gardens nestled by the old weathered barn. The two Main House bedrooms have their own full bath and offer a private front door entrance and foyer.

Oversize wicker furniture surrounds the nightly firepot in the backyard under a breathtaking canopy of familiar constellations, and occasional shooting stars. Invite your friends over for lively conversation and enjoy your new and old friends.

Please help yourself to fresh vegetables from the garden and maybe cut a few wildflowers to bring hom to remember your stay. B-B-Q's are available for your use and you may even find the right vegetables for your dinner right in the garden. Relax and enjoy your day without an early check-out time because when you stay at "A Meadow House", you will feel already at home.

Markl, I didn't know you could be so eloquent. It's almost as if you cut and pasted from the B&B marketing literature :P

That sounds tempting enough for me to register my motorcycle. What class would a Ninja 650R run in?

For some of us the typical Inn is the Iron Masters ... Nice restaurant in the fornt (not owned b the hotel), clean. Getting old and prices are going up.
Just secured a room w/ 2 double beds for $120.

If family not going I can share.

That was Frank Nordlinger's Miata. There was also a BRE decked out 240Z there.

Wow, those Meadow House folks really try and sell it up. It is not that fancy or foofy, just a nice place close to the track and you got a full kitchen, outdoor grill and can hang out and drink/smoke outside. Guess they wanted to make the place sound all upscale-like.

cuda6666, please don't make me name names of guys who have blown it for the majority of really good guy COMSCC'ers (joy riding track cleaning rigs and abusing track folks so no more pre-day camping are but a few examples). The folks who own the B&B are really cool, down to earth track-loving people for decades. One look at all the cool vintage track stuff in the bunk room tells only part of the story.

Apologies if i am coming off a bit harsh here, yet there was some apprehension in posting the B&B on this board... and that in and of itself speaks volumes as the bad few have already ruined a few things for the many.
Enjoy the Track,

what if you fall off and i'm following you. You're pretty skinny but i doubt you'd clear the undercarriage if i straddled you.
