The tread pattern looks a lot like the Nitto. Any word on overall similarities and differences?

Frisby has them in a few sizes.

I believe these tires have been out for a year or two in foreign markets. There are several write-ups about the tires on various Australian sites.
Impressions seem positive, comparing the R-888 "triple-8" to the RA-1.

The R888 is to replace the RA-1, which is being phased out. Seems like both will be available for a while. For example, the 205/50-15 R888 should be out next season, and at least one supplier has said that Toyo will continue to carry the RA-1 in the same size (no doubt to fulfill their contract with SCCA/Spec Miata).
