Re: Brake pads for heavy turds
From what I read, I think I'd still pick the Falken RT660. It's cheap. It's quick. It's fun to drive. It's somewhat durable, assuming your suspension geometry isn't crap. And, if it's only driven at the track on Saturday as described, I'd bet it will last a good number of days. I personally would ha...

Re: Brake pads for heavy turds
I agree with everything Brandon said. The Hawk DTC60 is also one of the cheaper options, so it won't be as painful to experiment. I'll add that the A052 requires lots of camber, and will get chewed up FAST without it. I'm told the Nankang CR1 is similar, but they are definitely a lot stiffer, heavie...

Re: Club Motorsports
We have many members who want us to go back. So, we've decided to try to give the track another chance. I hope we can find a date to fit in our schedule. We're looking to do a single day, without a TT.
The track and the management was brand new back then. We're hoping things are much better now.

I'm sorry Dan. I didn't see this, and sold it at the track Saturday.

Pit Pal trailer organizer thing
Pit Pal trailer wall organizer. Apparently, they want $225 for one of these things new. It came in a trailer I bought, and I don't need it.
Modded with a few additional mounting holes, and stickers for at least 20 hp.
First $60 or best offer at Palmer.

Re: Harness Mounting
That's going to be difficult to answer. Do you have photos?
I'm familiar with the floor mounts you mention, I believe. But, I'm not sure how the harnesses would fasten to them.

Don't buy a diesel for fuel saving, unless you do a huge amount of miles. You'll never make back the premium. It's pretty much $10k premium, used or new. They will 'run forever' in a perfect world, but it's never a perfect world. They don't like to sit, they like to be run full time. Buy a diesel fo...

Re: Route to VIR
Wow. Thanks for all the great responses. It's going to be a difficult choice.
FWIW - I'll be towing a 24ft enclosed trailer with a 3/4 ton pickup. So, nothing too crazy.

Route to VIR
I'll be towing to VIR for WRL next week, for the first time. Anyone have any route tips? We'll be leaving on a Wednesday, early morning.

Re: Thompson Turn 6
I feel like it's a lack of knowledge. People don't tend to think of the inside wall being dangerous. All they see is the ton of runoff room on the outside. So, they go a little too nuts. I don't think the turn is dangerous. I don't think it's the track's responsibility to do anything. The COM schedu...
