Greetings -
I'm trying to find a torque wrench smaller than our wheel torque type. Something in the range of 20 lb/ft to 40 - 50 lb/ft and smallish (that's a technical term btw) to use in tight areas.
Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated.
Best,
Torque wrench sourcing
Have you tried Sears? When I bought mine I think I remember them having a low range torque wrench in stock.

small torque wrench
1/4 wrench from harbor freight is a fraction of the cost, as well as a fraction of the quality ($19 vs 199). Neither the Sears nor this has much more than 200 inch lbs of torque.
This air ratchet looks like it delivers the torque you are looking for in a smaller size... also fairly cheap (harbor freight, of course).
FWIW.

Hi Don:
Either Sears or MSC: http://www1.mscdirect.com/CGI/N2DRVSH?P ... 0002169191
If you want to go the real cheap side go to harbor freight: http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/d ... number=239
Bonne chance!

Re torque wrench:
McMaster-Carr Supply Co Inc. - www.mcmaster.com.
They have a 3600 page catalogue which has about five pages opf torque wrenches.
No el cheapo stuff here, but you will get what you pay for and maybe a bit more.
Order phone # is 732-329-3200.
I order stuff before 5pm and have it here in Pittsfield NH by UPS at lunch time the next day. Don't know how they do it, but they do.
I've found it is easier to spend time with the catalogue than to deal with the boneheads at Sears, Home Depot et cet.
