Post by rajito » Sun Aug 13, 2006 6:57 pm

The results for Mont Tremblant have been posted. Season points standings page has been updated, as well as the Mont Tremblant track records.

As usual, if you don't see the updates, hit the Refresh/Reload button on your browser.

Enjoy :)

Am I reading that right? Did a Lightning beat up over 3/4 of the field? How did all you Miata guys get beat by a 4800lb pickup truck?

LOL Too funny, I wish I could have gone. :(

I have some great video footage taken looking backwards form my miata. it shows the Lightening charging up behind me at an alarming rate, passing me just before turn 7, then exiting you see a large cloud of dust the lightening created doing a bit of rallycross, then turn 8 more dust and a bit more rallycross :) then a look at the front of it coming back on the track.

I dont know the guy in the Lightenings name but he was FLYING in that thing, and definately pushing it pretty hard. despite the off track incidents I would say he drove that thing damned well (I had a chat with him after the excursion to let him know it didnt cause me more than a few pucker incidents seeing the entire side of his truck at 100mph), I couldnt keep up with him through the turn 1 complex, but thats because I have way too much self presernvation insitinct :). I think his suspension must have been somewhat modified, if not that just makes it worse.

The worst part was I think it was also an automatic!!!!

Thanks Raj, nice job!

It's easy to beat a Miata, just add boost! Could he do it with 4 plug wires pulled and no blower? Anyone can be fast with enough HP. No disrespect to the Lightning driver, he was moving in that truck!

That is Chuck.. He runs alot of autox with the SVTOA at Devens...and other clubs... He also has quite a bit of oval track experience..

He was definitely hauling ass.. I managed to eek him out by only .1 in the TT.... Whew!!!... :)

Oh come on! HP doesn't mean anything when your driving a 4800lb brick with weight distribution of like 70/30!

BTW, All Lightnings are Automatics. :D

The S-10 Blazer ran a 2:01.9  The dude was lifting a wheel on pretty much any corner, especially on Namerow.

I'm glad my car drives itself :)
