Caravan to WGI SUNDAY

Post by StephanAlfa » Thu Sep 08, 2016 6:50 pm

Given we cannot enter the track to unload on Sunday I plan to leave at a time from Merrimack, NH that will put me in the area by 4:30 ish.
I invested in a hand held CB radio and will be tuned on channel 27 for those interested.
I am not towing but will have a cargo box on the roof of the U-boat...
My code name COM 25

Note SAMs message says do not enter garages until registration. The track opens at 6 and registration opens at 7... I have a garage assigned already so what gives?
Also note the sessions will start at 8:30 with drivers meeting at 7:45 so EVERYTHING WILL BE EARLIER THAN OTHER EVENTS.
Speed Safely!

What route are you taking? My wife and I are leaving Alton NH around 6am, making a stop in Hillsborough then heading to the Glen. I'm on the fence of heading west towards Keen or doubling back and taking 3 to 290 etc. I am towing if that matters

Yeah I have taken Route 9 while hauling and it gets ugly when you get stuck behind campers and trucks so best way is to head on clear highway to 90 West (Pike and NY Thruway) then you have the option on cutting in via 88 towards Ithaca (again highway bump lots of frost heaves/bumpy road) or take the scenery route via route 14 south. I have taken both hauling and I prefer the route 14 even if slower but will be shorter and nice scenery. The time compromise is about 10 minutes so well worth it.
My my home I plan Everett (Route 3) South to 495 to 290 to Pike and Thruway then south on Route 14.
If you leave at 6 AM you will be ahead of me by about a couple of hours .. but you are hauling so give me a point by when I catch you ...
Safe travels
