COM on MotorsportReg

Post by peterfontana » Thu Feb 26, 2015 4:02 pm

(Please see http://www.comscc.org/news/ the full announcement.)
Many thanks to Fred Ferguson for the current registration system and his solid support! Now that Fred has moved on as President/CEO of Palmer Motorsport Park it is time for COM to move to a commercially-supported system. COM has enlisted the help of members who had served as MSR administrators for other clubs and we are migrating existing member information to MSR. We will be opening the registration for NHMS-1 in MSR by early March, and will be using MSR for all track event registrations from that point forward. A How-To guide and other resources are being prepared to ease your first steps in MSR.

COM has put together a Hyper-Care team to help members with this transition - email them at msrhelp@comscc.org for help. As this team encounters and resolves issues, this information will be made available on the COM forum here in this topic.

Thank you for your patience with this transition.

"Is COMSCC setting up the accounts with MSR or is it us members that are doing so ? I have a account with them under a different user name then with comscc ."

We will be importing information for all members in the current COM reg system over the next few weeks. We will be using email address as the primary way to identify if a person's COM account matches an existing MSR account. If they match we will update their MSR account with the current COM information. If the email addresses do not match a new MSR account will be set up using the email address from their COM account.

We have Dan on line 2 with a question: "I'm licensed with COM - how will this status be moved to MSR?"
Thank you Dan for your call and for listening to WCOM.
When the legacy member information is migrated to MSR this process will automatically update your MSR membership with the fact your are a Licensed or Instructor member with COM (as appropriate).

Here's the latest from our membership chair, Paul G:

Hello everyone! This message is coming to you a bit later than I would have hoped, but we have been working hard with the new registration system. Progress has been excellent and we are now ready to get the ball rolling. It is Spring (forget what mother nature says!). Did you know that registration for NHMS-1 opens on April 4, 2015! The MSR team needs you to take a few minutes away from wrenching on the car and do us a huge favor.

PLEASE log in to your new MSR account and review all the information in your profile and the Club Membership. It is very easy to do.
1. Go to: My Account / Edit my info. Please check the spelling and punctuation of your name, mailing address, emergency contact info, etc.

2. Also scroll down to Club Membership area and select “Edit Clubs”. On the next screen click the “edit” button next to: COM Sports Car Club. Pick your T-shirt size, and then click “save membership”.

Once your account info and club membership is complete navigate over to: https://www.motorsportreg.com/orgs/com-sports-car-club . Scroll down and sign up for the 2015 Annual Membership Event. To be eligible for an early membership package (new shirt, stickers, magnets etc!) you must complete this step by Thursday April 2nd, 2015 (this week!).

If you already paid for your 2015 Annual Membership in the legacy registration system there is no need to redo the transaction. We have the information.

If you find anything you can't fix yourself, please contact the support team at msrhelp@comnscc.org.
Be sure to check out http://comscc.org/registration/MSR-help/.

That is it! Go do it right now before you forget. Maybe we will all be wearing the same shirt at the track!
