Friend and former COM member who had Rob Goldfarb's Miata (SOLD!) is now looking to sell this custom made aluminum trailer
http://www.aluminumtrailer.com/productd ... rHauler/42
The differences from the trailer shown on the website are the open deck channel, a welded on tire rack instead of the front rail (holds 8 wheels up above the nose of the car, a full beaver tail rear, and a storage box mounted on the tongue. These are fully welded construction, as opposed to the bolt together Trailex type. It’s about 18’ bed; it was custom sized to fit in the garage at my old condo, yet big enough for the Porsche 944 I had at the time, Dexter torsion axles (7000lbs capacity), electric brakes, spare tire mounted to the rack. The fenders remove with two lathes so low clearance doors are not a problem. I believe the empty trailer weight is around 1200lbs, or about 60% of a steel equivalent. I could push the empty trailer in and out of the garage by hand. Everything is in good shape, will only need a new backup battery. New they list out at around $6700
This is a custom built design to match the garage space at Pat's old condo. It fits through normal garage doors and he has always kept it inside with the car on it. The dimensions of the trailer are:
Overall length = 20’-6”. That comprises 5’ of tongue length, 12’ of flatbed, and 3.5’ of beavertail
The ramps are 62”
Total width is 8’, width between the fenders is 76”, width between the tire rack uprights is 72”.
Clearance height from the deck to the underside of the tire rack is 35”
The width of the center opening is 22”
The axles are rated at 3500lbs each. Tires are ‘C’ load range Maxxis 205/75-R15’s (spare too)
This is an all welded aluminum frame trailer which weighs about half of what a comparable steel trailer does, and with the lightweight Miata, is easy to tow with minimal fuel mileage penalty. It can be pushed around by hand for easy hookup and storage.
I personally used this trailer a few times on our COM away events (Mont Tremblant, etc.) when I had a 6 cyl Jeep towing the Alfa, was very easy to handle and tow (felt like nothing).
ASKING: $4,500 and is priced to sell.
