It's that time of year again...
We've had plenty of lively discussion here on the forum, but now it's time to put the rubber to the road.
The Chief Scrutineer and the rest of the Scrutineer crew will certainly be developing minor and major proposals for consideration by the BOD over the next few months. However, we're really interested in input from all- Any member in good standing can propose a rules book change.
Did someone ask how?
Well, thanks for asking. The COM website has a place for you to submit your proposal(s).
- Go to the main page of the website
- Click on "rules" on the top line of tabs
- Click on the "rule change request" link
Follow the directions there, then submit. Pretty easy huh?
Please include the text of the existing rule, and how you would like it to read instead.
Please provide as much supporting evidence as to why it's a good idea as you can. The form cannot handle attachments, but please feel free to send any pictures or .pdfs to me at cannontom@rocketmail.com that support your position. I will compile all proposals, and be presenting them at the BOD meetings over the rest of this year. While changes may be proposed at any time, we traditionally have made the October-November period the time when the book is reviewed, to have it locked down by Jan 1 to allow members time to make changes in the their cars or class if they desire before the first event in April.
MOST importantly, plan to attend a BOD meeting or two to sell your proposal to the BOD. We're not generally bribe-able like the Lemons judges are, but are much more likely to look favorably on a proposed change if the author makes the effort to come to the meeting to champion it.
Thanks Tom
