I'm looking for a stock 5-speed Miata ECU compatible with a '97 for a reasonable price.
Call Shawn at 6o3-26S-o313 or bring it with you this weekend. Thanks.

$25 is fair. Email sent. Thanks for the loan offer. We have a temporary one, but we are looking for a replacement that will allow us to get a sticker on the car so we can drive it to the track. A transmission swap from auto to manual has left the ECU looking for a signal from the automatic transmission that is no longer in the car. That lights a "check engine" which prevents the car from passing emissions. The rumor is that if we swap in an ECU from a compatible manual Miata, the light will go away.

Jeff, just thinking out-loud but I assume Shawn is looking for a 96-97 OBDII ECU for a 1.8L 5-speed car? I don't think early 1.6L ECUs will help?

Yep. I'm still looking if anyone has a 96 or 97 ecu.

I'd call instead. He's not an email kind of guy.

Cy,
I got the ECU from him and gathered some other parts from his lot full of Miatas. Leos is a great resource for Miata and Porsche parts and knowledge. Easy guy to deal with too. Thanks for steering me his way.
