i need photos for dash plaques . what i'm looking for are comscc members cars only . but not just a car on a track thats getting old . i saw one on this forum of a wheel and part of a red fender . i think it was a mustang ? i looked for it again but can not find it . i'm look for photos ,ideas , input . email me at dkbairbrushing@conversent.net thanks david
Re: photos
Am I the only one thinking it's great to have COM members cars immortalized on the dash plaques?
To me looking back 5 or 10 years at a fender or a wheel is not the same as seeing what was being run at that time.

Re: photos
from the amount of photos getting emailed to me and the replys to this posting i'm starting to think why is the club spending money on dash plaques ? when there is just no interest in them !!! there must be more than 2 people in the club that can email photos to me ! i never stated that i will not do dash plates of cars on a track any more . but there are better photos with a more artist view other than the old stand by of a 3/4 or side view of a car on a track . i have a nice photo of my mazda az1 that was in a magazine . its a shot of the car from about head light hight down the side of the car . there is another photo i have of my gti that the photographer shot of the top of the car from on top of a step ladder. you still know its my car but just a more artist angle .
Re: photos
A personalized plaque showing our car? That is awesome! The DRIFT has photos of member cars in almost every issue. you have one of my car? (at Monticello? but it wasn't me driving it? use that one?)

Re: photos
I think it is great that we do dash plaques, and that they feature member's cars! The lack of response is likely due to two things. First, most of us do not have pictures of our cars to share. Second, many members do not check our forums. We could put a blurb in the Drift telling members how to submit pics for dash-plaque consideration.
Whatever we use for pics, I think the subject should be easy to identify. Cars with numbers and such are easy to understand. The plaques are too small for intricate pictures. I'd bet that the engine pic used in the recent NHMS plaque looks great full-screen on a monitor, but couldn't make out what it was on the plaque, and as such, couldn't really relate to it. That doesn't mean that I don't like the idea of artistic pics though. For example, the Drift from our Monticello event had a nice pic of a bunch of cars lined up on pitrow, with Stephan's Alfa leading the pack. Something like that would probably make a nice plaque.
It would be great if we had a volunteer photographer (or photographers!) at our events. I have a digital SLR but never the time to use it. If I knew in advance that a volunteer photog would put it to use, I'd be happy to bring it along.

Re: photos
Photographer Pierre Goyette said he would compile some photos and forward them to Bruce Allen. My recommendation would be to check with Bruce if you are looking for quality pictures for future dash plaques.
