1. If your car came with a catalytic converter,it must have one (stock or a replacement) for any class but Prepared?
2. In Prepared classes,if your car has a permanent roof you must have window nets. Arm restraints and a 5 point (or better) harness will not be accepted.
3.What is the legal method to point by with a window net in place?

Just trying to understand the rules,regulations etc.

I would hate not being able to participate(drive) because I misunderstood.

1. SP and P do not need a cat.
2. Arm restraints are for verts only- in all classes.
3. You can usually get a hand around the front of the window net enough to be seen, but baring that, you can signal with the right hand if viewable through a rear window. Sometimes you have to resort to head bob and smoke signals (just kidding). Once others in your run group get an idea of how you can signal- things go smoothly.

Only a Ford driver would refer to smoke signals. :tweety:

For the record, I consider myself a Mustang driver. In fact a hate Ford. They make crappy trucks (opening a can of worms here I'm sure) and haven't made a decent passenger car in ...well...ever. For the crap they pulled during the Firestone/Explorer recall- which was a Ford problem and nothing else- I lost what little respect I have for the company. This comes from a guy who has owned 3 full-sized Broncos (mid-80s era- that were pretty good trucks- especially with the tops off) and more Mustangs than I would like to count.

What was the question? :roll:

Bought my first Ford back when I was 17 years old. A 1965 F100 with a 360 FE motor,Thrush glass pack duals,3 speed stick and 4wd. I proceeded to put a 390 4v,and then a solid cam 410 tri-power,and lastly a 428CJ in that engine bay.

I left a lot of grooves in the pavement with those studded tires around Northboro.


I still own that motor. :D

Our new passenger cars are fantastic. It's too bad that you were burned in the 90s and won't even consider one. Everyone who drives a Fusion has nothing but good things to say about it. Additionally, our initial quality results have recently come back equal to or better than the Japanese. Sorry you won't give us another chance because there's some cool stuff coming in the next few years.

Take a look at this Saturn/Opel Flextreme ... out of the bottom of the trunk comes a couple of self balancing machines ... he-he, not trying to adverstise but you gotta admit it's cool. 8)
I think all cars have good qualilty for one reason or the other. If you look at how Raj's Subbie stood up in Mont Tremblant you'd have to admit the wormanship was well done and I am glad to see you crazy friend still joking around!

Let's re-visit this when Alfa comes to America... it ain't FIAT quality I can tell you that. Alfas will be built in Maserati plants (and sold in Maserati dealers here in the USA).

Not a Ford,but I had a 2007 Chrysler 300 on the lift yesterday and am very impressed with the overall construction.Looks like a Mercedes underneath, from the driveshaft (and lack of U-joints) to the use of cast alu on many major components. Double lower control arms/ball joints up front and IRS out back with trailing arms.. DOHC engine,with timing chains instead of belts and very accessible components.

Very impressive stuff.
