I know it too late - but here is a car which just sold this afternoon on EBay.
The only reason I didn't bid is because I didn't want to go to AZ.

Wonder if it really sold for $1000?!

You have experience w/ the S13? I'm all ears...
Age factor comes into play, especially with those cars.

I have a 94 SVX if you are interested in it :) JK hehe

All I can say is I wish you stay away from those Nippinic products and get real with real cars: Porsche, BMW or even Alfa. Fro $5K you can buy one, for the balance you have left to spend ouf of your $20K "budget" you can begin fixing it    :?
Good luck in your hunt.

Since when did Alfa become a real car? Don't they still sell the same model from 1960s

Dan B. why don't you consider a real "Man's" car like a Mustang or Camero. They give you the rear wheel drive, carry 4, high horse power (up to 390 h.p.), nice flexible chassis for a good ride and if you want to track it -- one exciting ride with all the flexing and poor handling  Plus you can buy a nice one for well under your $ limit and parts are cheap (thats why I track one)

:x

Well... let's see: double O/H cam concept still winning today, deDion suspension, Alfa IS the ORIGINAL Ferrari, Bertone, Ghia, Pininfarina designs, Auto Delta racing ...
Several and major wins sustained for many years ... now what do YOU drive again? Miata? I hope not, copied from Alfa Giulietta (Bertone desing who lost the bid to Pininfarina at the time).
Educate yourself, Alfa is legendary and has a racing pedigree that still technologies from the 60's is a proven winning concept today.
Wait until next year when the new Alfas come to the USA (shame on the USA, I drive them all time in Mexico!). New Alfa have been winning prizes in Europe for the past 5-6 years.

Dude, this is 2007. Stop living in the past!!! Who cares about what they did, it's all about what have you done for me lately. KMart was stuck in the past, look at them! Same with Ford, GM, etc...

You keep dumping money into an old pos, of course it is going to run. What is the point of dumping $15K in a $5K car? You still have a piece of trash. Collector cars are only as good as what people are willing to pay for them. A mint Alfa might be priceless to you, but I wouldnt pay more than the book value on it.

Last time I checked, most Alfas are consider to be under-engineered and overpriced. They are not luxury enough to compete with Mercedes or BMW, not economical enough to compete with Renault and Peugoat. Get real, they are like Saab. You have the diehard nut, and people who don't care for them one way or another.

Technology, that's like saying the 911 is still using the same thing from 40 years ago. They are similar, but much improved!

I hate to say it, but how many fast Alfas are out there? Especially stock ones. Race cars dont exactly share parts with the road cars, also the biggest determining factor in racing is the budget!

I'll repeat: Wait until next year when the new Alfas come to the USA (shame on the USA, I drive them all time in Mexico!). New Alfa have been winning prizes in Europe for the past 5-6 years.

Ask me again next year. As for the rest, I know Dan and I was only joking because he know where I am coming from, one brand loyal (Alfa) to another (Datsun). I may the one of 2 Alfas in the Club but SCCA has a ton of them ... and still winning!
Happy Friday to you too!

Let's wait and see how long they will last before they fail in the market here again. I am all about funky cars, but please don't tell me they are the best.

Civics/Mustangs have been winning races in the US, but do you consider them good cars off the assembly line? I could win a few races if I have money to put into a Geo Metro.

Stephan,
I'd LOVE to get an Alfa like yours and go to tweakifying, but I need a daily-driver type car. So Nipponese it most likely is...

When I do get rich, maybe one o' these is in my future:

I saw a few of these in Rome last year and fell in lust:

Fricking PERFECT! I thought. But it's fwd/awd

Anyway, here's to Alfa's return to the U.S. Hopefully they put some of GM's $2B to good use
