Hey Scott, Do you have an SCCA license? Just curious if you are the same "Scott Rosnick" that is signed up to run next weekend's 6 hour enduro in a Spec Miata?

Oh Oh. The secret's out. :P Let's hear your best spin-doctor excuses Scott

I am bumming, I really had hoped to have my 1997 Reynard Indycar done and tested in time for this event but it is not looking good. 12 hours is too far to tow without getting some time in it to shake the bugs out. I guess my new goal is to get to try it, test it and then do as many events next year as possible. For those in the know, how would the Shenandoah track be for my newest car? Remember it is only 2.5 (if that) off the ground and almost 17 ft long. Gary

Horsepower is king there and well worth the price of admission to see the Miatae scurry for the woods as you pass them going up the back straight hill.
It is actually more like "watch all the Miatae dodge all the broken mustangs on the back straight", like big cones in a slalom

Mosport is NOT a horsepower track, it is a true momentum track! Unless you can't take turns 1,2,4,and 8 flat out.
All right I work a 14 hour day today and leave the forum unattended and all sanity and rational thought appears to be on the same level as the pitching in the Red Sox Yankee game I'm watching.
Mosport is a momentum track? Forgetting the back straight which HAS to be the most HP key part of any track in the northeast (slow entry- all uphill-long)- maybe turn 1 through to the bus stop of WGI compares. The exit of turn 3 to the bridge is a HP run- the only reason turn 4 isn't flat out in the Mustang is 1. I haven't gotten the balls not to at least lift and 2. grip vs. speed probably makes a lift necessary. If you try to take turn 8 flat out in a high HP car you better bring a shovel - I've tried it.
You look at Chris Tier's time at Shenandoah (momentum track) last year compared to mine- he was .7 faster or Limerock .8 faster and then look at the Mosport comparison- he was 3 seconds slower. No one is going to argue that Chris wasn't driving the wheels off the Miata at Mosport.

2 hours of free track time. Simple as that. Team needed a third driver- who am I to say no.

Some comments after driving a Miata for 4 sessions at an SCCA test day:

1. These things are really friggin cramped inside.
2. My Mustang was better through turns 9 and 10 than the Miata I drove that day- turned out they had .25 toe out in the back and it really made the car over rotate even when you powered through the corner.
3. Despite the handling I got the thing into the 19s nc/so.
4. We were on old tires and barely used any gas all day- admittedly it is an economicall way to go racing.
5. I won't be buying one any time soon- but I'll drive yours!

I'll bring the capri pants if Raj brings the wig

Gary the carousell will be brutal on that car.

I dont think it would even make it in there, its bad enough in a miata (cough spit eeeew Miata ;) ) Shedona is really a test track not a formula track.

Nice job in the 19's Scott I wont tell anyone you like to drive a girls car at the weekends :) , good luck at the SCCA event. I wish I could make it to A) help out and B) spectate a bit but I haev a prior commitment that weekend.
