Supercharged 6 cylinders can make more than 240whp and do pretty well in SPA
Anyone willing to spend dough on mods but not spend $2000 on safety maybe shouldn't run on the track. If you want to be frugal and have just a helmet, rent a car and see if you like the track time experience.
It seems silly to have to say, but people do die at track events. A little safety never hurt.

I dont have a problem with spending money on safty equipment, I just didnt budget that into my project for the summer. However, I am not going to be able to make everything happen for this track event. I woiuld also need to out hood pins in due to the carbon fiber hood. So on that note, Hopefuly I will be able to get out later this year, but most likley that wont happen untill next year.
Thank you all, you have been a great help!

Noah,
Good to hear you will be installing safety gear. It was one of the first things done to the car i use on track because cars can be replaced, people can not.
At a minimum would be proper helmet and 4-point belts.
Add to that Nomex balaclava, Nomex 3-layer suit, and Nomex socks (and shoes too if you want to go all out). There are some great deals online for complete packages for around $1,000 for suit/socks/shoes.
Other bits might be a 5 lbs. Halon unit mounted in a way that is easy to access.
Trust me, i am all for adding better handling, HP/TQ and braking ability, but it is just a car and they made thousands of them. There is only one you.

It makes sense that you have to upgrade safety to the level that the car is. I guess it will work out well when I redo the interior of the car over the winter, as I dont want to ruin any of the very expensive hard to replace interior parts that I have, so thus I want to take my time to do it right.
Thanks
