Just stirring the pot. I do think there are some rather large gaps car classifications, though. This HP/WT thing is not a true measure of a cars capabilities and handicaps some cars. Not being a cry baby, mind you, but can we seriously think that a Mazda Speed 3 is anywhere near competitive with an STI or EVO? They are all T60 cars in base trim. In order to modify the Speed 3 to be even closely competitive with those two cars, bingo......now it would break out and have to run T70. In fact I have to disconnect my front sway bar to remain in T60 as the car sits. As for Will dusting Nick, we will see. Check NHMS1 times, they point to the two of them being nearly equal running chicane/chicane.savage217 wrote:Nick won't beat Will at NHMS south oval. Anyone with a Torquey motor benefits at a track like Tremblant for obvious reasons. The oval at NHMS will be an equalizer and you should see Will dust Nick this time around (sorry Nick, but not really lol).
So to be honest I am curious if Sam does not agree with the new touring class system? Are you just tyring to stir the pot or do you really believe it is flawed? Personally I think it is a great start but does have some flaws, like any new rule system would have but I will not go into details in this particular thread.
T60 quicker than SPC?

Re: T60 quicker than SPC?
Right because Will's Miata just doesn't have the torque that Nick's m3 6cylinder produces. That's why the Oval should not be as close. Will has run 12's in the oval. Depending on the conditions I would be amazed if Nick breaks into the 13's.chaos4NH wrote:for Will dusting Nick, we will see. At this coming event at NHMS nothing above said will matter if it rains ...
It then will be how much "cojones" one has to truly drive in wet conditions.

I didn't realize that Will and I were competing... However, I hope that Greg and I have a good T60 battle in the wet - I think we'll both be on older Hoosier Wets. As for Will, he's got Gordon to worry about who is an excellent rain driver.

Exactly. I have never been able to afford rain tires so driving in the rain sucks for me!Stynger wrote:And, who has the best rain tires.StephanAlfa wrote:At this coming event at NHMS nothing above said will matter if it rains ...

I think is more of a matter or "arm" than tires ...Stynger wrote: And, who has the best rain tires.

Right David, I did a poor job of explaining! If I use my front sway bar, I would have to compete in T70dtlemoine wrote:Make Model Start Yr End Yr Base Class

Re: T60 quicker than SPC?
Weight( Sam you're lighter than STI or WRX) tires( you have slicks) and knowing rebound and compression with the suspension( dialed in by a professional) As I've been reading on here which I agree with, is that most is driver( can't replace skills nor docked for points) I'll use me as an example, Sam, I had a speed3 modified which went from St2 to SPB Still a student mind you, making a porsche GT2 boil it's brakes driving down into the bowl and passing later on. Point is that any given day anyone can do anything they put their mind to. Feel the car.....
