that looks good and just about the same distance for me to go to NHMS .
to me it would be better to run as many deferent tracks in a year than keep going to the same old ones time after time .

I'm wondering:
Is there any reason the club can't just drop this Thompson event and not replace it?

Be interesting to see what happens either way. Hopefully they can find an event to add where we can be confident in attendance so it's not a looser financially. - Paul G.

i don't see a 2013 schedule ? the last time i looked the 2012 is still posted .
when i talked to Russ at thompson he said they are not even sure there going ahead with building a road course and that was only just over a month ago .
so why would it even be on the list of the 2013 events ?
as every one knows the problem with comscc is no one but a hand full of people wants to drive any were to go to other tracks . there are many great tracks that comscc could go to but if no one goes we will just keep doing 2 or 3 away events and the rest at NHMS .
NHMS is a fun track but there are so many other tracks to go to .
does CT need a good track to go to HELL YES ! lime rock sucks they rip you off with the cost and then only want to give you a half day .
when i was talking with Russ he was telling me they know they would make money on building a road course but there is more to it than just that . they know many racers and clubs are not happy with lime rock .

maybe people should start to email thompson and start pushing them on going ahead with building a track .
like mamma said the squeaky wheel gets the grease !

Last year's event-TT competitor count:

Summit Point – 27
NHMS-1 - 63
NHMS-2 - 54
Mosport - 34
NHMS-3 - 65
The Glen - 71
NHMS-4 - 64

I'm glad that we're going back to Summit Point, and wish that Mosport could be moved over here & Loudon shipped back north as compensation. And if the Glen were only an hour or two away...

Contact has been made and it's on our radar.
Unfortunately, if you watch the video, the track is anything but safe and ready to go.
Little runoff, the runoff they have is grass, no barriers or tire walls and LOTS of trees.
Hopefully these areas will be addressed as the year goes on.

The track looks like it would be fun. :P

i think the glen has a good turn out because it's only a once a year thing . it think over time the attendance will drop if you started to go 2 times a years .

the good thing about summit point for me is it's not that far for me as i'm 3 hours south from most of you guys in comscc .
for me to go to mosport or VIR it's about the same drive time .

the safety track does look like a fun ass track to run but it still needs alot of work . the good thing about that is it's not far from me .

we really need another track in our area two work be better !

I would love to drive down for an event at VIR. That track has so many cool aspects to it. I've never driven the Glenn but I would not mind having more than one chance a year to make it over to that track.

Cheers!

with all the other clubs out there your not just stuck with COMSCC .
comscc does not run LRP any more but there are times that i will just want to go to the track and because LRP is close to me i will just go there and run with another club . the same goes for VIR if you want to take a trip down there many good clubs run at VIR. the last time i was there i was with track daze and i got s crap load of seat time . they are not a tt club but i got 2 days of 5 20 minute runs a day .
i have also been there with the porsche club they only give 4 20 minute runs a day .

Best deal I've found for Lime Rock is their Tuesday Test & Tune days. It's $275 for the ½ day, or $250/each if you pay for three of them for the year. You get five 20-minute sessions. COM license is good for entry. It's never been crowded when I've been there, so no one is holding you up. Best of all: no sound restriction! I looked at one club's event for 2013, and they stated 84dB was the limit. That's a new low in more ways than one. Info: http://www.limerock.com/index.php?optio ... &Itemid=76; note that they're still showing the 2012 dates.

there test and tune days are not to bad . with IMG i think the DB level was at 84 also . with the porsche club it's not to bad i think there at 89 ? i still have to change the muffler on the diasio to one that corks up the car .
LRP still **** you with the pricing that track is just not that good to pay the prices they want .
thompson really needs to build a road course !

i really think that people should take a minute and email thompson and let them know there are people that would be happy to go there insted of LRP . it may just light the needed fire under there ass to keep going on building a track .

Me too. I've never been a fan of The Glen, I much prefer Monticello.
