The Motor of the car is expected to be out in 2 weeks sent over to the machine shop for Nitrate crankshaft, align hone, balance, Darton sleeves then back to the shop for installation of Cams' pistons, valves, valve guides, springs, retainers, cometic gasket kit, new pick up tube( No Not Killer Bee either), gates kit with kevlar belt , ect...

Update:4/1/12 - Car is still in the process to have the motor taken out and be re-built , Heads going down to CT it'll be about 4-6 weeks down there then should be back up here for final assembly. All in all It's going to be a long process but well worth it.

Update: Car is now Almost back together looking to make a run for the October event since the engine will have gone through its break in period

Paul , I should have some pictures soon, but I did purchase some FIA padding for the Roll bar, stuff is rugged! It's a good thing I had the motor pulled they found the #2 Piston had just started ring land crack, since I started to smell oil. I looked at the valve for that #2 piston and sure enough the top of the valve was coated I figure another 4 weeks I should have the car back and Have to go through the whole break in period. The color scheme will be green /white inside ( Which can't be seen anyways since the padding will be there, ) Shocker Yellow/ Intense blue in the engine bay, Ceramic coated the headers, gold wrap the fuel lines for heat, Oil cooler with built in thermostat, stiffer motor mounts, pitch mount, 10.5cm exhaust housing on the turbo...

Why spend more then an hour breaking in your engine? Bring it on up to the track and do it right! Or have it put on an engine stand dyno...

Break in period = tow it to DSG and let them do it on the dyno, then take it to the track and thrash it. Too easy a break-in is a bad thing...

No offense to DSG But I have a garage that's doing work and that's reputable GSD;-) And the guy is going to come to the shop :-)

It certainly doesn't have to be DSG but the easiest way to break in a motor is on a dyno, The second easiest is on the track... You don't want to be too easy on it as most of the break in for an engine happens in the first 20 minutes and is premised on "loading" the engine to seat the rings. Starting with medium revs/loads and building from there.

When I broke in my last street motor, I spent the first 50-100 miles doing Mid throttle to WOT pulls from 2000-5000 rpm, preferably uphill where you can find it...
