Try Phils tire service in NY. Great people and excellent service. I like the Hoosiers.
Most of the 18" road racing slicks are >25" tall...and expensive...

You may want to stick to dot 18" R compound slicks, like the R6.
Do you need the 18" wheels because of brake size?

It's not what you drive, it's how you drive. "Lap times matter"

Yeah, maybe some competition for the DSG Pleasure Evo and Ted's STI (not sure if they are classed the same; but this Audi seems as bad ass as the other two cars mentioned!TroyV wrote:Whatever the classification ends up being, the car seems like it is a total badass! I can't wait to see this thing out there.

Hoosier and Goodyear make lots of slicks I see on track. In my spec Formula E I am mandated to use Hoosier isn SCCA racing. You usually will need new wheels. Use of slicks is an opportunity to use smaller diameter, wider tires and lower the car. Weight is your enemy but so is roll center.

Re: My car classification...
Thank you gentlemen.
I have already looked at the Hoosier and the Michelin slicks but I find them too tall +25.5" and too narrow. My car's gearing is already too tall and I want to stay with the smallest diameter tires possible.
I have three sets of 17 inch wheels that I can use for either rainy days and for just lapping because I won't require maximum performance during HPDEs.
I did however buy a new set of Volk TE37s; 18 inches with a width of 9.5 inches and an offset of 22mm. I have already bought and mounted Hoosier R6s on them in a 285/30 size and this is why I needed to cut the fenders. I figure this combination will widen my track by almost two inches. I will use these only when competing. I will most likely upgrade my front rotors from 13 inches (max under a 17 inch wheel) to 14 or even 14.5 inch rotors to be used with the 18 inch wheels only.
Here's the R6 in a 285/30/18 size mounted on an 18 x 9.5 inch Volk TE37 ET 22mm. The TE37 weighs just over 18 pounds.
Here's a side by side comparison of the TE37 with the Hoosier R6 to my 17 X 8.5 inch SSR Comp with RA1s in a 235/40/17 size.
Here's the reason I needed to cut the fenders on my car. This is a shot of the rear suspension not compressed. As you can see the Volk/Hoosier combo is too wide for a proper fit.
Here's a shot of the same combo with the suspension compressed.

I'm not going to talk smack. Well not yet at least the car looks great!
One thing that looks like it's a bummer from what you posted is that the car is all painted but you'll need to install another seat rail set for COM.

Well the car is certainly not fully ready yet but hopefully by spring time it will be.
My "spare" race seat and its track are already mounted on a 1/4" aluminium plate. All I need to do is secure it in place with the OEM seat bolts.
If this gets all too complicated for my car, I may just borrow Jeff's car for the track check out.
