I tried to class my four previous track cars with the NASA rules.

'03 WRX (COM SPB) went from a base class of TTD to TTB. +50pts for the bigger turbo (OEM STi rather than WRX) with supporting modifications, coilovers, brakes and tires.

'04 STi (COM PB) went from TTB to TTU. Calculated weight to power of 6.52 (3000lbs/460whp) -.5 AWD +.4 Sedan +.4 for 265 tires -.25 for 3000lb weight = 6.57

'99 Impreza 2.5RS (COM SPB) with '04 STi motor swap couldn't be classified. It would probably go from TTE to TTA. wt/hp 10 (2840lbs/284whp) -.5 AWD, +.8 for less than 245 tires, -.45 for 2800lbs = 9.85 I think it would be too slow for TTS. Everything is the same as an '04 STi, except it weighs 420lbs less. Stock STi's are TTB and 420lb weight reduction equals +29pts. 29pts would move it up one class to TTA

'93 RX7 with Chevy LS1 (COM PA) swap couldn't be classified, but I figure it would go from TTC to TTS. Calculated weight to power of 8.76 (2850/325whp) +.4 for 275 tires -.4 2850lb weight = 8.76

COM puts my WRX and my 2.5RS in the same class. The RS was faster. Same power, same suspension, same tires, same brakes, but the RS chassis was 420lbs lighter. NASA would bump the RS up at least one class higher than my WRX.

COM puts my RX7 into PA. Its a street car, but I had a custom subframe, rather than adapter plates and the original subframe. Otherwise the car would be in SPA. (FWIW, you can install an LS1 into an FC chassis [same as Carls] with adapter plates and run SPA) NASA puts the car in TTS, the same class as a stock C6 'vette and Viper.

COM puts my STi in PB. Thats one class lower than my RX7, even though the STi is way faster. NASA has them the other way around. It puts the faster STi in a class higher than my RX7.
