There is this rather "economical" system used by some as well:
* Walkie-talkie with an earphone. Get a buddy (or family member) to time it and relay on radio. If you are consistent with your times, all they need to relay is the last second digits
* Another one that works too is time your own video footage after each session.

That way you don't have to add unecessary weight into you car with another gadget

"Mt Tremblant is still a maybe ....."

Go for it! I just signed up and made room reservations.

That track layout is just too inviting to pass up on.

I've already been around it ten(ok..20) times with my pen.

Here's a bit of one of the afternoon run sessions. We're in the silver Audi sedan and right behind b18ced6's CRX during the out/yellow lap(s).

This was Rui's first day ever on track, or in any type of car control or performance driving situation. I believe this clip is from our 3rd session out. He did a great job and we had tons of fun. :)

We're all about turn 1 because of the pucker factor, but, truth be told, it's not the most important turn on the track. Obviously, because it's so long, you need to maintain a good pace through it, but it leads into a slow corner, not a long straight.

Paddock Bend aka Jihad Alley is the most important corner on the track.

No, but you can sure loose lots of time there! Better pucker up and keep your foot in it!

I believe the "keep your foot in it" part is also about staying on the track. I've never seen a corner where this is more important. ](*,)
