Will is correct. This particular car is registered, insured, and passes inspection....though I'm sure the inspector was scratching his head when he first saw that thing.

Initial Engine Options and Estimated Prices
Est. MSRP w/ minimal options All prices are not final nor are HP numbers.
GM Engines HP figures will likely increase by at least 5-10%
Brammo Ecotec 2.2 $35,000 145 HP/ 155 Ft./lbs.
Brammo Ecotec 2.4 $38,000 171 HP/ 163 Ft./lbs.
Brammo Ecotec 2.0 Supercharged $40,000 171 HP/ 163 Ft./lbs.
Honda K20 (k20z3 Not advertised however likely) $40,250 USDM K20z3 200-225HP
Honda K20 Supercharged $45,750 (K20z3) 290-300HP

Should give the Elise a run for it's buck ... prices are baut the same.

I'll wait for the new Alfas to come to the US tough...

The roll over protection appears a bit lacking. Where would this fit in the Roll cage/rollbar specs? Certainly not a role cage IMO, so it has to be an ST car? Ya!! that's it ST2! Hmmmm, take the money from the insurance on the truck/trailer.................... watch out Frank!! :D

Wow! i'd love to see that car out on track. I saw it also on Top Gear show and it was the most bad ass driving machine they tested! It even beat a Superbike around the test track easily.

I agree with Raj.... put him FP and see if he can beat Bruce

IMO, it ends up in SPC; consider the Ultima GTR that ran SPA with us at the Glen.

This winter, we should consider as a club whether we need to codify more specifically where these street legal, yet clearly beyond a typical street car built to "street prepared" rules, should be.

Although we never promise a car will be competitive in a class, we shouldn't make it so that instead of just worrying about having the hottest tires we need to have the one hottest car to even have a chance at placing.

If this car is street legal it is a Kit Car and is SP just lke my Lotary 7 custom car. SPC for normally aspirated, SPB for turbo. If any street stuff is removed, like windshield or if it runs slicks it is Prepared.
Stewards will be ruling soon. Either way it and drive must have the rules-mandated safety equipment.

Uhm where is it registered? Here in NY they wont allow it which is the only reason I havent bought one. I cant bring myself to pay $45K for a car thats only good for the track. Stupid NY!

Tell you friend that if he lets me take it for a session on Day 2 I'll pay for his second day. I'd love to try it. I've been looking at this car since Top Gear featured it a few years ago.

It is registered in Ma.

As for taking it for a session, take a number and get in line. :)

I believe Track Control will need to personally and firsthand assess the safety of the car on track. ;)

Well, to be sure of things Bruce for sure and perhaps i, as the only other open wheel guy, should drive it to be sure of the classification.

Will be great to see an Atom at the track.

You are also forgetting another formula car with street mufflers and a converted methanol to gas engine ...

Yeah, but that is not street legal. The Atom might be one of the best middle ground cars when one considers all the variables.
