2007 Calabogie Information

1) There is early arrival the day before our event between 6 and 9 PM only.
2) The paddocks are paved, but no garages or hookups.
3) Camping is allowed, but there are no hookups or facilities near the camp grounds.
4) There is no speed limit on track. This is a rumor from the initial lapping days that had a pace car. We're not doing this. The Porsche and Lamborghini clubs hit 250 KM/H, see if you can beat it and stay on track.
5) There is a noise limit of 104 dB at 3 meters and 92 db at 20 meters. ALL cars are tested in the morning. You will not be allowed on track if you fail. If you pass Lime Rock, chances are you'll pass Calabogie.
6) There is a fluid shed for oil, antifreeze, and brake disposables.
7) There are no concession/gift shop/food places at the track. There are plenty just outside the track.

Read the track guide. It may help you prepare for the 20 turns.

The track also advises one uses the GPS coordinates for finding the track, as most GPS Nav systems can't find it reliably by city and zipcode.

Steve, Steve,
you can still race SCCA Saturday and blow off Sunday.

Here's the street address that works for Google Maps and Audi's Navigation software which is put out by Navteq. They may provide software for your GPS system too.

sorry for spreading rumors

After the third session behind the pace car i think my head exploded with frustration. It was impossible to not complain to fellow COM track guys.

What rumours? The one you actually decided to drink that conccoction of coca-cola and baking soda after your poured on your car's clutch system?

Because I once drove within 200 miles of Calabogie I have been designated the chief instructor by Carl Fossum.
To balance my ignorance I have recruited two experienced Canadian instructors from the BMW club: Daria Khachi and Mario Marotta. They will start by instructing and leading the instructors and then they will be available for classroom support and on track instruction.

This is a fabulous new track and we are bound to have lots of track time. Sign up now!!

It's always good to call and ask.

Normally if COM rents the track (i.e.: not a public event) the event is a closed event and some "track rules" may be waived.
Hope the dog is used to track noises ...

Am sure everyone got the mass mailer with driver guide (and yes i know it was posted on this thread previously) at http://www.calabogiemotorsports.com/driversguide.htm

Took the video from the site and modified it so that if you set your video software to LOOP ENDLESSLY the video you will experience is a continuous lap after lap. WARNING: Also took the liberty to speed up the video by 10% as this looked more reasonable for the FC, so what you are seeing is a 10% faster lap than what is posted on the track's website!!!

Please right click and choose download so my server's bandwidth is not eaten up.

Aside from the shear number of blind, late-apex elevation-changing corners, many appear to require a compromised exit . . . imo this will make weight transfer, entry/exit speed, and car orientation -- in addition to just driving the line -- critical to go fast AND stay on the pavement. At least there appears to be decent landscape markers as well as run-off . . . the Miata guys are gonna love this place.
