Yeah, I was impressed with how close they are. Maybe with a dynojet, they would be the same

I’m in a similar situation. For now I need to drive my car on the street. Chris Howard in Holliston MA is going to build a 4 pt welded in roll bar for my GTI. He said he can continue it in the future by adding to it when I’m ready. Very good price as well.

Well, decision was made...

The Saab is going to stay much the same as it is and probably be the track car for this whole year. As the RX8 gets closer to being ready for track duty, the Saab will get some DD treatment, aka dynamat and the rear interior re-installed.

Plan for the RX8 is to rebuild the rotary myself and see how long that lasts, while making it into a proper track car over time. Probably will attempt an aggressive street port myself, do all of the varios "reliability mods" that can be done, then focus on suspension, brakes and weight reduction. It'll probably see some track use before a cage, but a proper cage, harness, seats, hans, etc are the 2 year plan.

Are we going to have some rotary vs k RX8 battles when you finish your build? :D :D :D

I'm excited, but it'll be a long road getting this thing to a point where it's good to go.

I have two buddies with RX8s that have gone through four motors between them. I'd budget in that LS1 swap from the start.

After i sold the E36 i considered an RX8 project for a bit. It's a fantastic chassis.

For those of you with no idea what we're on about...
