Planning Tremblant

So I have the family up from Sunday to Thursday. I know what I'll be doing Monday and Tuesday but I wanted to plan out some activities for them. I see there's Club Plage Tennis and Beach club with reasonable daily rates, is there a lot to do in the village?

We're staying at Chateau Beauvallon on Montee Ryan.

You may have heard that the usual route to Tremblant through Montreal is a mess and will have a one to two hour delay. Here is the route I use. Just before the border I head West, over the Lake Champlain bridge along the border then North, following Canadian highways to the West of Montreal. I also sneak over the border at a little use rural crossing rather than using the NY RT87 crossing that is very busy.

St. Jovite has 188 pizza joints for families. Go to Mt. Tremlbant for their little village of boutiques and bars and ride the lift to the top.

Not sure if you're a golfer, but there are some great golf courses in the immediate area. There's also a terrible go-kart track nearby, a Luge on the ski mountain, biking and hiking trails, and a lot of fun places to eat and drink. We (my wife and 2 little ones) are up there for the week also, and we plan to spend some QT at the beach, hike and visit the ski village/ride the lift up the mountain.

Single men, I've heard, might also enjoy a trip to Le Faucon Bleu... (*)(*)

If there are events running at the track, I've been able to get in and spectate... if we are lucky, the owner may chopper in and take one or more of his vintage/not so vintage Ferrari race cars out for laps at lunchtime. A few years back, we saw him turn some hot laps in his 333SP, an FXX, some other 70s era Le Mans-style car, plus a 430 Spider. That's almost worth the price of the trip!

I agree the Highgate Springs crossing on I-87 can be pretty terrible. Better options west of there. You may get some more unusual questions as to why you're at some small rural crossing, but I find it's often worth it. There's one to the east of I-87 that's basically a farm house. The officer asked me what the heck I was doing there (avoiding the queue at Highgate, I replied). He then quizzed me on why I don't take public transit from home in JP to work in Waltham. Turns out he used to be a Boston cop, and after a minute complaining about the T I was on my way.

I ususally cross at I-91. The roads in Canada are good from there other than getting thru Montreal. Hoping that going up Saturday and back Wednesday will minimize that.

Thanks for all the info - what about trailer and car? Registration of course for the tow vehicle and trailer, what else might I need? I don't have a current registration or plates for the car, but I have a title. How much paperwork are they going to want to see? I heard no full gas cans? What else could hold me up?

Title is good for race car altho I have never been questioned. Likewise No agent has ever been concerned about jugs of race gas. Alcohol is another story. AND, bury your radar detectors.
