New guy preparing for next year! Tips, Tricks, Advice?

Hey guys,

I'm hoping to start ComSCC next year and I'm looking for some tips, what I should get, etc,

The car I'll be racing is going to be my engine swapped 1993 Ford Festiva (hopefully if nothing horrible goes wrong with it).

It has an engine swap so with the Excel spread sheet putting all my info in (assuming stock 1850 pounds with 130hp which is much higher than the stock 53) I'm going to need a roll bar, so I'm working with a company to get that going, I'm also going to be putting a Sparco Sprint seat or something similar in it to lower my head for the required 2 inches below the bar.

I have a few questions:
I'll also need an aftermarket seat for the passenger side, correct?
I'm pretty short (5'7") so I'd be making sure the bar is 2 inches above MY head. When I have an instructor in my car, am I going to be called on it if they are taller and their head is closer?
Any tips for beginners? What should I bring as spares? I have a Tundra so I'd be towing the car there. I've been trying to make it my goal to get some time on a track for a while.

Greetings!!

Why wait a year?... Start now!!!!

You have come to the right place! It might be a little difficult to find on our website, but we have a mentoring program that would be perfect for you to get all the answers you are looking for to get your car (and you) ready to go.

Follow this link: https://www.comscc.org/getting-started/mentoring/

See you at the track!!!

I would go this year but all my weekends are pretty much planned up, and the fact that I need a roll bar in the car put a damper on the plans. I gotta be more free.

I saw that. I didn't know if they would help advise me with taking care of logistics like the Roll bar, etc or just as a mentor for driving.

Our group of mentors have done it all! There is definitely someone there that can help and provide a lot more insight.

I did not see your mentor request come through, although I did get a different one this morning from an M3 former California guy. Try again or PM Me.
