Club Motorsports: Tamworth Town Meetings

Post by iamrazor » Wed Jun 06, 2018 11:09 am

Cam across these town meetings from Tamworth where CMI is brought up regularly. Sounds like the town isn't too happy with them due to sound.
On 5/17/18 CMI attends the meeting (haven't watched this one yet)
On 5/31/18 ~1:30mark Residents speak about sound issues in town.

Not sure how long this track will last without some track / town cooperation

For 15 years the town has tried to prevent the track construction. State Supreme Court eventually ruled against the town.

Listening to the town meeting on 5/17....(around the 1:40 point)..the people in attendance all seem to be much more in favor of CMI being allowed to operate. There was a lot of talk about the benefits to the community. It all sounded very positive.(pun intended) I'm sure there are a few sour apples in the barrel..but CMI seem to be making friends in town, not enemies. A good thing...

We're right around that time when people with vacation homes in the area are coming back to town. If I remember correctly a lot of the push back at the start of the project came from this subset of the local community.

Isn't CMI going to go private like Monticello?
