Raj, if my Indycar goes through the whole weekend fine, imagine how fast you could get back to work if you drove that back home?

As part of its zoning approval, the track must produce no more than 40 to 50 decibels of noise at neighbouring property lines under the township's anti-noise bylaw
I wonder what their on track DB limit will be.

"The track requires that all cars to have mufflers and warns that EVERY car will be inspected and noise tested under full acceleration before it enters the track. Levels must not exceed the 92dB limit at 50 ft."

Calabogie track DB limit has already been added to the list of track dB level sticky thread.

Calabogie events

As COM will probably be loosing another NHIS date in the near future, the Board should be asking for 4 dates and settling for 2. Dump the Mosport event as it caters to a small minority of the membership.

Are you referring to me when you say "small minority"? Ha! Wow  :D

I doubt this new track, even further than Mosport or Tremblant would draw more members. Perhaps the first few events, just "to see what it is all about", but the distance will certainly be a detraction. For the average stiff, like myself, 2 or three 7 to 10 hour hauls per year will be the max.
Unless more "local" tracks are found, the club becomes home only to the elite with $$.

This isn't further out. From Woburn/Boston area, it's actually 2 hours closer than Mosport if you follow the mapquest.com directions (instead of the google maps one). Tremblant is a big draw because of the resort nearby. If we can partner with other clubs like MCO, we should be able to fill more slots both at Calabogie and at Mosport.

Yeah, all those damn Miata elitists and their $20 brake rotors that last all year!

What "local" tracks? NHIS is garbage in terms of fun to drive factor compared to pretty much any other track. LRP is a bit of fun to drive (like a mini-Mosport) but those are the only two "local" tracks. The club doesn't have finances to build its own race track :P

In the past, the club did 4 NHIS events, 1 LRP, and 3 "away". This year, there's one less NHIS event. It might go up again next year, so I don't think there's a danger of COM becoming Miatas Of Canada.

Raj, the comment about $$ refers to the fact we can't all take unlimited time off from work, or otherwise afford the sundry other costs associated with the away events (gas, hotels, food, entertainment, etc.), nothing to do with the cost of a Miata brake pad. Same true of the elitist comment, I envy those that can run every event each year. I areee with you about NHIS! By the way, will my Mazdaspeed3 run against you next year? Should be fun, no? Zooom zooom.
