What time?
8 is too early for me coming from NH- given that it is not too long a drive and it looks like we may not be able to get in until 6 pm according to Herb. I'll be swinging by there about 9:30.
Re: What time?
Let's see what the concensus is. It's about a 9 hour tow with the normal stops - right ?
Re: Watkins Glen starting point
Do we have electricity at Watkins Glen ? Also I'm still undecided which route to take , Rt. 90 to exit 41 or 42 (Ft. 14 or Rt414) or the hilly route (Rt.88-Rt81-Rt17). My trailer is very heavy (11,000#) I don't have one of those little 4 cylinder cars. Any sugestions on which route ?
Route
Heavy trailers will definitely want to go all the way on 90.
The hilly way is more fun and maybe shorter.
Watkins Glen
Dan i have been all 3 ways and pulling my trailer i find that I-90 to exit 41 o42 is easier. Craig H.

My 2 cents
Personally 9:30 would be good for me. It should put us there between 6 and 7 PM.
WGI is ~ 5 hours from Charlton
I drove out Sunday - left Bolton MA at 11 am and arrived at Watkins Glen ~ 5pm, stopping twice (at the Charlton and Lee service plaza) for fuel. I was towing an enclosed trailer and went I90 -> I88 -> Rt 14.

WGI travel time
Greetings -

Leaving the Charlton Plaza at 9:30A will get one at WGI NLT 4:30P with the appropriate empty "tank", fill tank stops. (a tad over 70 mph required).....
Best,
