Fiat X-1/9 classing

Post by Rooster » Fri Dec 25, 2015 12:14 pm

Hi folks, just joined up and would like to do a few events. Need to know if you have atleast a stock classing for a 1979 Fiat X-1/9. The car is far from stock and is "race" prepped. I'll list the mods the best I can

1979 Fiat X-1/9 chassis
1.5" DOM rollcage
Kirkey aluminum seats with 5pt RCI harnesses (dated 2005)
2 fire extinguishers (one by fuel cell in front trunk and other in cabin)
1.75" fender flairs (tire still protrude slightly)
front trunk mounted fuel cell

Suspension, brakes and tires
Koni dual adjust with camber plates.
Hoosier DOT slicks (will change over to new Hoosier A7's)
stock calipers with Carbotech pads

Engine, exhaust and trans
1500cc NA block bored to 87mm
Dual DCOE 40 weber carbs
ported, polished and decked big valve head (I believe 38mm intake. 33mm is stock)
H-beam con rods
knife edged crank with polished journals
distributoerless ignition
modified final drive gearing 4spd with LSD

I'm sure there is more, but can not remember off the top of my head. I know the harness's will need to be either replaced with newer SFI units or sent back to mfg for updates. I've included a pic of the car in its current state. Any help with classifying would be greatly appreciated!

Cool looking car with some serious rubber on there! I'd say you will end up in one of the Super classes..SD or SC depending on your power/weight ratio.

Another sccnh convert! I look forward to seeing this on track next summer.

Also, for super classes you need window nets, unless your car qualified as an 'open' car where you will need arm restraints.

In any Super class you can use arm restraints in lieu of window nets.

Shoot an email over to Nick at rules@comscc.org and he can help you classify the car.
