Lime Rock track record

Post by Sandy Washburn » Mon Sep 22, 2014 9:30 am

My son, Bill Washburn, competed in a National Whelan NARRA time trial at Lime Rock last weekend, and recorded best time of the event at 54.75 seconds.

This time almost beat the best time of 40 Transam competitors who were competing in a 75 lap event, including several 700HP custom built open class cars.

He still holds the COM record at Lime Rock of 1.00, recorded the last time that COM was at Lime Rock.

His car is the same 240SX Nisson Maxi which he created 10 years ago at DENTSPORT. It has had several improvements over the years.

Matches best I ever did in Formula E. Albeit I only had 170 hp.

That car is a beast! I always liked seeing Bill run it at Com events. He must be so proud! :D :sunny:

Bill looks forward to returning to Watkins Glen with COM next year and aiming to come close to Kurt's super time.

They are good friends and it should be fun to watch. 4 cylinder 2 liter turbo against big block 700HP V-8!!

Now that Bill makes real money he can afford new tires for his beasty. Amazing what one can do with new tires. Congrats Bill.

Rats! have to wait until 2016 for that Glen Shootout. Only option to COM for 2015 is a July mid week on the short (NASCAR) track. The boot section is being repaved during the early part of the year and the track is closing right after the NASCAR event for a complete repaving.
The BOD has pretty much agreed on no Glen for 2015 due to date and short course.
