7-27 Thompson Photos

Post by ED9man » Mon Jul 28, 2014 10:32 pm

Great event and great track! Did anyone happen to snap any photos of cars on track or know someone who did? I'd love to have some action shots! :D

I saw professional photographers there both days. I am sure they will make proofs available online in the near future.

Thanks Gene. It looks like as soon as the proofs (which have already been loaded for the prior Saturday event) should be available here soon:

I like that Clarus Studios pictured my Lotus instead of the usual Miata as the car for their COM Event log in photo. : :D :D D

I just ordered 5 photos from them .
there are so many great shots of peoples cars .

there is one thing I do like about the guy that does the photos at tremblant and that's you just buy all of them of your car on disc .

was nice that they took pics but in my opinion they had the shutter speed set too high (not something I would expect from a professional). The result is cars that do not show movement because the wheels spokes are too visible. In my opinion the wheels should look like a blur and so should the background (at least with certain types of shots). I often see stopped props in aviation shots too. The car looks like it is moving so much faster if the wheels and background are blury.

to a point yes I do totally agree .
but
I have god knows how many photos of the 7 cars I own on tracks and I only have a hand full of them with blurry wheels and back grounds . the pic of the cars are also not as sharp as it should be .
I had one of my red 944 made into a poster size from when I was at mid ohio .
when it is in a smaller size print it did not look to bad but in a large size it looks like crap . not worth hanging up !
I also have one of the diasio from the glen and the photographer took a clear shot and made the back ground and wheels blurry . it looks better then the blurry shot from the start .

One other nit-pick I have about motorsport photographers is that almost all of their shots tend to be of the front or side of the car. It's extremely rare to get shots of the back of the car which can be an interesting perspective. (Like this one from Liz).
