Our 335xi runs at 250 after warm up, and stays there all day.

Hi Sam,
Yes I am serious these cars with the LS series engines are reverse flow coolant to a normal small block chevy they put water in to the heads first to stop detonation then thru the block last they come factory filled with synthetic (mobil1) to help it deal with the heat, they will run 250 + deg F on the street......Many have said 300 deg f is the limit but in the heat of NHMS 2 I got to 315 at the end of one run. there is an oil cooler in its future... SSU wil not allow a larger radiator but a stand alone oil cooler is ok so that is what we plan to do. I even got to 285 deg F in the trans at NHMS2 but I do beat on this thing. Also Laura's car was 305 deg F engine oil and 275 deg F trans in the same session her car does have 40 k less street miles and she is smoother than I am......I did buy a new stock radiator for my car cause it does have 80 k on it.

After Saturday and Sundays event at NHMS,I say again I'd buy the c5Z if thats what you want these cars are stupid fast you just need to find the Magic line, tires and brakes. Brake pads are HUGE but the stock stuff works till you progress you driving to the point that you need more then try Hawk HP +'s brake pads they work well till you get too fast for them you will know when you kill a set of pad in 1 day. I will not tell you what magic brake pads are you will have to find them on you own because then you will be too close to Laura and I ,the difference is night and day. I would start out on street tires and GM C5Z pads and just remember the car only goes too fast if you press the loud pedal too hard... :P

PFC 06 pads, if you can find them, will be the best $500 you've ever spent on brake pads. They never fade, and appear to also never wear out. I have 7 days on a set this year (includes 2 events at NHMS) and they're just over 50% worn. They are also extraordinarily easy on rotors - they work well enough at cool temps that I don't bother to swap back to my street pads anymore between events.

The 01 compound has a similar feel, a bit more initial bite, but sadly wear a bit quicker.

That's what makes them magic you have to figure out what works for you..... :P I was killing rotors in 2 events or less and pads every day, I tried a bunch of different pads that I had seen people rave about with mixed results :roll: I think I found what I want now They fit My style, she may want some thing a bit different we should know at the Glen......I'm braking WAY deeper than I was before... :shock: .. Remember we carry 3 sets of rotors on the truck and I'm not afraid to kill a set to have fun....so what I'm running might not work for you....
