Wondering (as a student); can you be signed off to solo on the second day if you are not going to run the TT? In other words, I would just want to run the morning run groups and any open track time that might be available after the TT. Last year I was able to obtain track insurance for the entire event, this year it specifically excludes the TT (or relay rally for that matter

) I would end up sitting out the few hours of the TT.

Interesting they exclude the TT...I consider those laps less risky than sessions.

My feelings exactly!
Couldn't even talk them into the relay rally.
Makes me wonder how others deal with it, I see a lot of high-dollar iron running around out there during TT. I can't believe that all those people could take the hit of a write-off if something went wrong. I think there is a lot of *hoping* going on.
Once the car's a few years older I'll probably run W/O the insurance, but not yet.

I believe it. It's probably the other way around too. Some of the less expensive daily drivers on track would be more of a hardship for those owners to lose than the guys driving the high dollar metal.
I also think a COMSCC time trial is way safer than an HPDE -- there is so much LESS going on and many of the risk factors are absent. It's just you and the road with NO distractions.

The driver of the Ferrari Enzo I caught up to exiting the south chicane a few years ago was definitely living in hope. He darn near drove into the wall to ensure that I wouldn't hit him, which I wasn't planning on doing anyway. Instead of a point-by, he had his arm out of the window, and was giving me the "Stay away!!!" signal with his hand, while looking in his rearview mirror. I'm guessing he never returned.
