NHMS4 Videos and Pictures

Post by Dtangard » Sun Oct 09, 2011 9:44 pm

I'll start it off...

There is an interesting pile up at the beginning and I have a big slide around 6:15 in turn 3.

Derek, great video and setup. How do you like it and what brand is it? Thanks,

Greg, looks like the "Nascar" line through the oval worked well for you. I should have experimented with that lower line some more. The oval never felt comfortable for me,as my LF tire would pick up so much OPR you could actually see it increase in diameter and then shake badly... Looking foreward to tackling it again next year... :D :sunny:

I think I could have gone faster thru there if I had a front splitter. Every time I tried to go to the gas earlier in the turn the front would lose grip and the car would start to push.
I guess I can't be too disapointed with that time running a stock 99k mile junk yard engine :D

Here is a day 1 session with group 2. I was still pretty slow through turn 1 here.

Had a great time spectating! (Definitely need to bring my WRX up)

I was there from 7 am til lunch on Saturday. Would have stayed longer and gotten a ride-along but I had other obligations for the afternoon.

I'll post up photos later, but for now here's the gallery:

I had to manually focus for many of them as I was shooting through a chainlink fence. My apologies to anyone whose car isn't in the gallery in one form or another...Odds are I wasn't able to get a good in-focus shot of your car. :(

^^^ Nice pictures! Thanks for sharing. You have a good eye for composition, some creative shots there. I know it is tough to shoot around all of the chain link fence at NHMS, but you did a good job at it! Come cool paddock photos too. Some wallpaper-worthy pics for Sandy Washburn and Mark Stellato (respective owners of the green MGB GT and Ariel Atom).

Thanks!

I absolutely love that Atom.

First saw one on Top Gear a few years back and it was pretty cool to finally see one in person.

I did. :D Well, I "won" a free one in a raffle.

A bunch of other people also signed up for ridealongs that I'm assuming paid, so I wasn't too worried about it as I wanted them to be able to go. Seems like there were a ton of students/new drivers as well, so I didn't want to get in their way.

Sorry, I don't know everyone's cars yet, so which photos (Cars) are you referring to?

I'm pretty sure I can turn on printing via that website if you'd like. I've got high-resolution versions of everthing as well, which I can re-crop, edit, etc if you'd like. Shoot me a PM if you don't want to clutter up this thread.
