Mosport in May

Kidding aside, I agree. I've crapped my pants more times in T2 at Tremblant than Mosport.

That's reassuring because I've done 3 days at Tremblant, but from the videos/iRacing it seemed like corners 2 and 4 Mosport were even more intense than T2 at Tremblant.

At Tremblant the crest of the hill feels rutted, it's kinda like Storrow Drive up there. In my car, if you're off by what seems like inches the car can feel loose and almost oscillate as you track diagonally across the ruts.

At Mosport the camber changes in T2 and T4 are dramatic but at least the pavement isn't rutted. Problem is if you enter either corner too far to the right the car can wash out. Fortunately you have to screw up pretty bad to be out there. Feels more dangerous in T4 because there isn't much track then a tire wall off to your right.

Speaking of MT, what was the reason not to include this great track in the 2011 schedule? BTW, I'm at MT right now skiing and just talked with Nino.

Drat, Mosport and too soon too for me I think. I still need to pick a car and get it ready.

My opinion is that T2 at Mosport is the most impressive. I am pretty sure most nearly go off there on their first reconnaissance lap. The thing about T2 is this: it is a long turn and once you are committed to it, you simply need to hang on and hope it holds while the car moves out and around the two apexes...and it surprisingly does, rewarding you with a sens of elation every time.

Where are folks doing for lodging? I've only been there once and I'm not sure I was staying as close or convenient as I could have been.

There are no hotels "close" to the track .. but they are not that far either.

There is the HOJO with so-so accomodations.
I once camped on track (best) but it wasn't so early in the season.
Another time i stayed at the Holiday Inn which seemed to be the better bet.
I am looking for room to share as well if anyone is interested. No snoring-farting-smoking and other non-race related bad habits

I stayed at the Holiday Inn at the town west of the track (I forget the name) last time I was there. I suppose that is probably a good bet. There was some decent food in that area as well.

B&B's sort of freak me out, like you are at your creepy uncle's house for a sleep over, but that's just me..

I used to stay at the HoJo right up until last year, recalling with nostalgia, way back, when it used to be called the Flying Dutchman, but finally gave up on it. Its gone progressivly downhill

Oh, well, now I have a Toy Hauler so I will be sleeping at the track. With my car. Does the idea of sleeping with your hand on your slicks freak you out?

I am just concerned about the cold at night there. I am inclined to sleep at the track too but not sure if restaurant will be opened, etc, etc.

.My only bone to pick is the part where he says Turn 2 is the scariest turn of any track COM goes to. For some reason, personally I think Turn 2 at Tremblant is scarier, but maybe that's just me.

If you're not scared you're going too slow.

I don't feel quite as bad after seeing other folks confess to puckering there.
