Jeff,
So sorry to hear of your loss.
I had my 1990 Miata and 2003 Boxster stolen from garage a couple of years ago. I know the feeling you have.
I got both cars back in a week. The Boxster was found smashed up on a on ramp in Lowell (couldn't have been a COM driver that stole it) and the Miata was found abandoned in Lowell as well. The + terminal on the bettery was broken.
The culprits were never found. Hope you have better luck.
I'll be at NHMS for test and tune April 21. You're welcome to take my car for a few runs. I would love to see the difference in our lap times.

Apparently Mick, it's an hour-long orgy of destruction. Better get 2 popcorns and a 6-pack!

Wow! Peter, that's awful! Did the Boxster get repaired? The Miata is replaceable!!!

We should swap cars, so I know just how much faster you are - you're a great driver.

I spent a few hours at Apex today, and between the 2 insurance companies and Les, it looks like everything will work out. Parts are on order, and Les will be paid to install them - I have very little time off between now and 15 April, and Les's help is immeasurable.

Oh, and the assholes stole the OEM shifter knob. Why???

Because it was there. Thieves suck. Sorry about your troubles Jeff, hope it can get worked out quickly.

Jeff,
I did get the Boxster repaird to the tune of $16,000, paid by my insurance, thank god. I got rid of it last spring, and just purchased a 08 Miata as a daily driver in nice weather. The 90 Miata I still have and that's the car I track.
I think it would be fun to trade cars at the track...so I can see how close I can come to your lap times.
Glad to see that the insurance company is coming through for you.
See you at NHMS in April
Peter

@Peter, never mind my lap times, go ride with Nate, Wasilko, or Tom, or some of the real drivers in the club. I've still got a few years of learning.

But, I am racing Lemons at NHIS, so we'll see if I have listened to Les and Nate and Jeff and Carl, and everyone else who has told me what I need to be doing better. Come on by and laugh at Team Gnomementum! Watch Will get penalized out of the race again (Doooh!)

Jeff,
Good advise. I did ride with Nate in my car and he showed that tha car can do a LOT more than I was doing with it. Gordon Andrade was my instructor when I joined COM. I sure have a long way to go before I come close to those guys.
I plan to go to Le Mons, as a spectator, I'll keep an eye out for you.
Good luck!!
Peter

Wow very sorry to hear about that. Just an unlucky break, what are you going to do? Glad the insurance companies are doing something for you. If there is an hour of video, I would think the thieves could be caught.

Wow that is just terrible! So sorry to hear that :(

Clearly this is somebody who knows about these things. Didn't Wills car / trailer get some bad love a few years ago?

Not much I can do to help but empathise.
