Everyone should also reach out to motorhead/driver friends and family in the Detroit and Chicago (Buffalo, Cleveland, Pittsburg...?) areas. Mosport is about equidistant from both Boston and Chicago (about 9 to 10 hours from each). A good friend of mine from Chicago who autox's and DE's his STi may be joining us.BBQman wrote:I am pretty sure that COM will see some non regular Canucks showing up for the Mosport event.
While we all enjoy LCMT, Mosport is a big draw for us locally.
I will see you guys at MIR and WGI!

Re: 2011 Schedule?
Seems like the weather might be more favorable in the early spring at NJMP since it is so much further south than New Hampshire. A first event with good weather might encourage more participation in NJMP. I'll show up whenever I can manage a working car and a day off, but the weather difference between NH and NJ seems like it might make a big difference in participation and it's not as risky as the early spring event at NHMS. my 2 cents

Re: 2011 Schedule?
Hate to mention it, but from my perspective I will run any away event that is on the NASA schedule as I consider it practice for the next step in play time ..... unfortunatly the CA tracks just don't add the additional benefit for me although they are great tracks ....... would run NJMP again anytime, was actually having fun in the rain - if it was just a bit warmer !!!!!!!!! Next time I may bring a roof !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Re: 2011 Schedule?
Here are some rough numbers:
Mont-Tremblant and NJMP would have been about break even with another 15 attendees at each event.
A great turn out put Watkins Glen "over the top" for the first time in a long time, I believe.
In addition to track rental fees we pay about $3000 insurance per event.
I will let someone with a better understanding of the costs post up the track fees.

Re: 2011 Schedule?
I was hoping that the investment banking/hedge fund guys wouldn't have a great year and Monticello would be available in 11'.
I think that track is the best value in terms of distance and fun/difficulty. I would drive that track every event.
I would like to see the NHMS events moved to a parking lot with elevation changes to save on entry fees I really do not like that track at all.Hopfully Palmer and Tamworth NH will have something better to offer soon. Happy Holidays all!!

Hehehe...! Isn't that what it is now?
It is a shame about Monticello. I had the opportunity to drive at three Monticello events this year, and one was an open track day,so LOTS of laps! Very nice bang for the buck. Let's hope Monty reconsiders, and open it for clubs to rent in the near future.

Re: 2011 Schedule?
Hi All,
I'm new here, but just wondering how fixed are these dates. We tried to work with John last year on securing a "non money losing" event at Mosport, but calendars and availability didn't work out. This year we were able to secure a nice 3 day event at Mosport in August.
Friday consists of lapping & instruction, Saturday and Sunday are dedicated to lapping in the morning, with Time Attack competitions following that for both days. There will also be a banquet Saturday evening.
This post is to see if there's any interest from this crew?
Cost for the event (all 3 days, all inclusive for track) is only $550.00 Canadian. (The Grand Prix Track)
There will be:
RFID timing
Passing in designated areas
Prizes (Toyo Tires is sponsoring the event) tires and gift certificates
Trophies
Video display of lap times
Bench racing
Etc.
ComSCC will be the special invitee (Details to be determined)
Note: Just putting this offer out there, just in case there's any interest and there's no need to risk losing money. This event normally sells out, that's why I'm putting this here before it's advertized.
Thanks

None at Monticello. All my "bangs" came at NHMS..right before the start/finish line...one engine and one tranny.I swear it has something to do with that nasty bump in 12...

Re: 2011 Schedule?
Sam, I believe the attendance at the Glen this year had a lot to do with the schedule shift from April to Sept. I'm glad there is a similar time slot next year as well.chaos4NH wrote:A great turn out put Watkins Glen "over the top" for the first time in a long time, I believe.

Watch this site David. You may have a test day to get things sorted out before Mosport. They have started in mid-late April most years.
