Post by OBrien839 » Tue Nov 16, 2010 8:21 pm

Not sure if there are any gamers in COM but Gran Turismo 5 comes out a week from today on the PS3. It been in development since 2006 and has over 1000 cars to drive. Chances are your car is featured in the game

I've been holding off on buying a PS3 until this game came out. I also have hundreds of laps at the Ring in GT4. Unfortunately every single one of them had an off of some kind. :)

I am obsessed with the series. I literally started the countdown when they had a "holiday" 2009 release, then Feb 2010, then March 2010, then Q3 2010, then November 2nd, and now November 24th.

To Mick's point - the car list is a little disappointing for German cars. Why do you need 4 different versions of the 1-series (or 30 different RX-7's) without a single freaking e30 OR e36?

GT4 was awesome - love the 'ring. Greatest video game moment ever was finally completing the final driving "mission" in the MB SLR at the ring, when you have to chase down 5 other MB's including a 300 SL w/ a 123 second head start.

i hated the rally part of the game . its just not as real as it was in GT3 . it took me 32 tries to win the M benz challenge time attack . that car was so ill handeling ! do you think they could put any more under steer into it ???? an other thing i did not like was you had to do the 24 hour events all at one time . you could not turn the game off then come back to it . they do have some nice BMWs i got 7 of them . i like the 01 M3 GTR race car and the 2002 turbo is nice too . the GTR is set up for the ring soft suspension and hard race tires .you know a run fast little car is the suzuki GSX-R /4 i have 31903 miles on it and every add on there is other than the F1 cars its just about the fast one . i think i'm going to go do some laps !

I have no idea how many tries it took me to beat that MB ring mission. I would run it a couple times, and then go do something else. I would guess closer in the range of 50 tries. However, after I finally got it I immediately went to the S-class license test with the 190e at the ring and got gold on my 2nd try. Just goes to show how ridiculously hard that SLR mission was even compared to getting gold on license tests.

I never drove much of that Suzuki... I had an NA miata (exact same car I had my first track day at COM - '93 limited edition, black/tan), but with 6 digits worth of mods. I put a lot of miles on that thing.

Now I'm itching for GT5 even worse...

I've been way too busy with life to get back into the GT realm, but I was pretty deep into the original GT...$1,000,000 in the bank, many cars in the garage and most liscenses when my only son at the time overwrote my game on the memory card with something like Crash Bandicoot...It's amazing that he's made it to 17 years old...it was very much in doubt back then!

I agree the car list is somewhat disappointing. Do they really need that many Skylines? The devloper is Japanese though so that is to be expected. However there are some new features that make this game very promising even compared to GT4. The premium cars have full cockpit views, there is damage, and online play will make for some intense racing.

My favorite car of all time in these games is the classic GT40 with the Gulf livery. I remember it was new in GT2 and it was a beast. You didn't even need to make any changes to it.

you know an other thing i don't like about the GT4 game is you can't burn an other memory card . you could with GT3 but not with GT 4 . i got 209 cars i do sell off allot of them becouse of doubles but with 8,25,726 credits . there are not realy any more cars i want to get or need . as it is about half the cars i never drive . the 93 cars i realy like i get every add on for them and just keep using them all the time . they did do some dumb things in this game like with the 24 hour races it never gets dark out ! 24 hour of sun light . them there is the weather its always sunny there is only one race and track that you can run in the rain . what is it nascar ? the auto union V16 streamline car you can only run it on one track .

i too like the GT40s . i'm not getting my hopes up for the new gt5 game ! its all paid for at game stop and has been for the last year now . years and years ago i did the gt4 on line game play . i did not like it much just to many bad gamers on line . i hope its not going to be that way with the gt5 game .
