head and neck restraint is not a requirement with comscc yet . but its a good idea to have one . just a helmet if you have one long sleeves shirt and pants with closed shoes . come up hang out and talk with alot of people . out of all the clubs i run with the people in comscc are by far the best . from day one i run with comscc the other drivers were all very frendly .

DOT 5 is not for racing. Motul 600 DOT 4geoffm wrote:yea plus i like the fact that ide have a roof over my head as far as headers would go i probably make my own instead of spending 400 bucks on them.then make my own exhaust and short ram intake.then would be the brake issues dot 5 brake fluid brake coolers with blowers and some good race pads like the yellow stuff pads

Re: help me find a car
yep . a little info about silicone (dot 5) brake fluid . it does have a higher temp rating that is why there is a misconception about it being a racing brake fluid . dot 3's and 4's known as glycol fluids have many more benefits over silicone fluids . silicone fluid will aerate very ez it does not disperses or accept moisture making your brake system more prone to corrosion . giving you even more maintensnce . becouse there are no naturally occuring lubricity its not o-ring and seal friendly as a dot 3 and 4 is .
Re: help me find a car
i did do some research on this and u guys are right dot 4 is the way to go for racing.dot 5 is only recommended for show cars due to it not eating paint if spilled.but dot 5 is better for o rings and seals because its silicone is a natural lubricant.if u do get water in the system it goes to the lowest point because its heaver than the silicone making it hard to get out i got this info from brembo and willwoods website

The Department of Transportation specifies three common types of brake fluid DOT 3, DOT 4 and DOT 5. DOTS 3 or 4 are the preferred types for high performance, high temperature use and are available in a very wide range of formulations and performance characteristics. DOT 3 fluids are usually less expensive than DOT 4 fluids and are less capable in extreme use. DOT 5 is a silicon based fluid which is not good for high temperature use (it expands, becomes compressible, and makes your pedal soft and spongy) DOT 5 is inert and not corrosive which makes it good for preserving classic cars because it doesn’t take you paint off in the event of accidental spillage or leak.
Wilwood has versions of each DOT fluid engineered to the specific needs of our customers. Wilwood Hi- Temp is the maximum performance DOT 3 fluid at cost effective price. Wilwood EXP DOT 4 fluid is the highest temperature, highest performance, lowest compressibility brake fluid you can buy. Our DOT 5 fluid is formulated to protect your classic vehicle and give reliable brake performance.

silicone is not a natural lubricant ! if it was you would be using it to remove bolts and not wd40 (water displacement 40 ). do not confuse silicone with syntheic they are not the same . dot 3-4 glycol is a natural lubricant . that is why it is used on abs systems ! it will not harm the seals and o-rings in the abs system as a silicone will .

Might be a bit over budget after its all said and done, but a good deal none the less. Looks like it would be right up your alley.
