the whole thing is no biggie (just my shock at the Atom's classing, and the anti roll-bar ruling), and if it was going to PB that mattered, I think all I'd need is a window net (heck, I can even keep my A/C!).
It is what it is, but meanwhile, I must make a mental note to self:

Hey COM'ers,
I dont get to run with you guys as often as I'd like due to work schedule,,, just stopped in to check on this years schedule and read the forum and saw this thread.
My .02,,, you guys have the BEST classing for "Prepared" cars in the Northeast with your SP and P rules.
They are simple. Like runs against like. Make it safe,,, run what you brung.
Dont change a thing (well except maybe that silly passenger seat / petty bar thing in your rules,,, that one always made me laugh) I think 50% of the reason I have a petty bar in my car is because it was easier for me to add the petty bar than get another passenger seat for COM events...
I love the simplicity of the COM rules. Dont change them.
Hopefully I'll be able to get out to a COM event in 2010.
Cheers

...then I guess the rule made the car safer.Jimmy Pet wrote:Dont change a thing (well except maybe that silly passenger seat / petty bar thing in your rules,,, that one always made me laugh) I think 50% of the reason I have a petty bar in my car is because it was easier for me to add the petty bar than get another passenger seat for COM events...
Re: Classing SP and P cars
Not really,,, Petty bars really dont do much of anything for safety, and depending on what cage / chassis guy you talk to are even negligible in adding much useable chassis rigidity if the rest of the cage is designed well.Shawn624 wrote:...then I guess the rule made the car safer.Jimmy Pet wrote:Dont change a thing (well except maybe that silly passenger seat / petty bar thing in your rules,,, that one always made me laugh) I think 50% of the reason I have a petty bar in my car is because it was easier for me to add the petty bar than get another passenger seat for COM events...
The one thing they "do" well is in a big passenger side frontal hit is make the car a little easier to pull back to square.
When I was re-doing my cage a few years back I remembered that rule and said heck, throw one in there, it'll be lighter than a seat.
This is when it would have still fit in SP. Now it doesn't matter.
