Here's info on a group rate at another hotel. I've stayed at the Lodge and it was ok, but I haven't stayed at the Best Western. I've heard bad things about the Econo Lodge. Hotels in the area aren't that nice and aren't cheap, sadly.

Best Western Monticello
For reservations: (845) 796-4000.
http://book.bestwestern.com/bestwestern ... Code=33070

2-3 nights $95/night
1 night $105

Ask for the COM Sports Car Club/COMSCC rate

***
Lodge at Rock Hill
For Reservations: (845) 796-3100
http://www.lodgeatrockhill.com/

$89/night
3rd night free (which makes it $60 a night!)

Rooms are under Fred Ferguson/COM

Us camper-style people will probably be at the local Wal-Mart parking lot (cost, zero dollars... ) seeing at Monti won't allow overnight camping. I looked into campground rates in the area..and most of them charge 50 bucks and up to stay a night! Another $35 bucks and you could get a room. I don't know why rates are so high in the area. :?

Kai and I stayed at the Super 8 (Monticello) last year for $68/night. I booked it through priceline.com and it was fine... They even gave us muffins & coffee for breaky and the place is a ~5-10 min drive from the track along the main drag in town where one can get dinner. So Mark, only an extra $18 to upgrade from campground --> bedroom with private bathroom. :D

cheers,
ivy :)

I really like my camper. Very comfy and quiet. Staying at the track is the best...but I don't think Monti will allow it. Last time I stayed at the RRI up in Loudon,I had to go out in the hallway and unplug that damn ice making machine,or I would have never got any sleep!Crunch-crunch -crunch-slop!! How much ice do people need! That and the kids running up and down the stairs all night was enough to make me look at alternatives. Us country boys are use to nothing but crickets and owls making sounds at night.(and an occasional coyote.. )

I booked Bert and I at the Super 8 a few weeks ago. I didn't know there was going to be a room block.

Time Trials! Open Track!

We're on-track Monday and Tuesday. Some folks may want to stay in the area Tuesday night and drive home Wednesday.

Just made our reservations at the Lodge but they told me they don't offer the $89 per night as a stay two nights get the third free. It's either the reduced rate for all three nights or the regular rate for two and the third night free. Did anyone else run into this? Did anybody hear what the regular rate is, they don't post rates on their site so its probably pricey? I didn't think to ask when I had them on the phone.
