How do the Cobolts compare vs the carbotechs? I have always run corbotech pads, so I am a bit hesitant to switch over, but I would be interested to know what you thought about them.

Thanks,

Ok I changed the pricing. Thanks for letting me know.

The Cobalts are a more professional pad - NASCAR, etc uses them and as a result, they are a bit more aggressive and have better bite/feel - they feel sort of like the XP8 I ran for a while. They look cool with the little gold anodized rivets. :)

I'm also a huge fan of the Carbotech. You can run those pads right down to the plate (Carbotech support verified), essentially giving you more brake for your money. Plus they dont dust like crazy and because they are ceramic based, cleanup is easy.

I'm not ready to split up the set yet. But if there are no takers, I'll let you know.

I ran XR2's all last season and was VERY impressed with their performance. I was running CT XP12's prior to that. I feel the XR2 was a lot better for my style of driving and for the weight of my car.

I just wanted to add some stuff about the tire trailer. I've gotten a few PMs about it.

Ok. You wont find a better designed one, keep this in mind! :) There was welding work that went into it. A plate was welded on the bottom for the spare trailer tire (included) and the front arm that holds the fourth z06 rim. I had to pay a professional welder for this customization because there was no other safe way to hold the large z06 tires - they dont fit 4-across like other people's tire trailers that you may have seen. The truck box is a high quality Tractor Supply Company ($250) and water tight, and it has a sliding tool tray inside.

I'll throw in the hitch and hitch ball and locking pins. Also the extra trailer bearings and hub. I bought this stuff and maintained the bearings to make sure I didnt get stuck out in the middle of no where. I repacked the bearings before each trip. The trailer operates perfectly and is ready to go.

I'll also throw in a couple ratchet straps that you'll need to keep the rear tires from bouncing around.

I'm particularly proud of how the tires get secured - one security rope (1/2" thick - rubber shroud) goes through the three rear tires, and then get secured underneath the front rim with a locking trailer hitch lock, which at the same time locks the front rim - very secure for those sketchy away events.

The only other thing you'll need is the trailer hitch receiver and 4-pole light wiring kit, which are available from etrailer.com for about $140. http://www.etrailer.com/pc-H~24658.htm? ... id=2004272

I have passed along this thread to members of our autocross club....quite a few of which are C5 Z-06 owners. The trailer does look nice, and I don't think you should have too much of a problem selling it. Especially since they always seem to flock around mine at events.

I'm hungry for it, but I have no expendable cash on non-essential goodies until Xmas.
