heel/toe pedal extensions

guys, who has some pics of there heel/toe extensions for there gas pedals? i got my gas pedal adjusted today so its level with brake pedal during braking but am unsure if gas pedal extension should extend the full length of the gas pedal or just the bottom half or what. i like or want to roll my foot over to blip throttle, not twist foot and blip with my heel so i am thinking i need to extend or widen the whole gas pedal towards the brake pedal.
thoughts? pics?

Go the entire height or uppper two thirds. But use caution, you don't want to make your gas pedal too wide. When you need to step on the brakes quickly and hit the gas by mistake, you'll hate the extension.

yeah i was thinking that, i have about 3 inches in between gas and brake, so i was going to go no more then 1.5 wider on gas pedal.
my car needs it going into 1 and 3, should pick up some time there
anyone have pics etc?

Watch for interference with the "tub". The aftermarket pedal I use on the Miata got hung up on the floor last Sunday. This kept the throttle wide open going into turn 9. ](*,) Locked tires, smoke, and off roading ensued....

The best pedal extension I've used is exactly that - an extension of the pedal, not a whole new pedal. The extension is attached to the back side of the stock gas pedal, which puts the extension even with the brake pedal when it is fully depressed, making heel-toe much more convenient.

Both of my Miatas have 'em, and both are scheduled to be at NHMS this weekend. I understand you want to get your pedal in for this coming weekend, but feel free to come and have a look if you like. I'll be parked in the garage near your instructor from this past weekend (Les). Look for the black Miatas with red tops.

By the way, nice job this past weekend, car sounded great!

i will get something fabbed up, the problem with old camaros is the gas pedal is deep in the foot well, and i have hydraboost, and brake pedal is adjusted well, so i need to move gas pedal up about 2 inches so its level with brake when braking hard, i have an aftermarket gas pedal that where is attaches to the mount it is splined so its easily adjustable, but i need to make sure i have a stop in there as pedal will not contact the floor at wot.
so i am going to make an adjustable pedal stop, and then play with pedal height as it will only take 1-2 mins to do.

Just an idea. When I ran the Cuda, it also had screwed up pedal placement. I just learned to use my heel on the brake while blipping the gas with my toe. I believe some NASCAR drivers do the same on road courses.

On my 86 RX7 race car Dick Harding simply put a torch to the gas pedal rod and bent it closer to the brake. I used this for many years.

yeah if i had the stock pedal that would work, but with the late model engine i needed to get a pedal that would operate a cable so i have a billet gas pedal rod, so a extension is needed, thanks alot guys for the replies
