Another awesome event. Kudos to those who organized the event. That goes in the books as well! =D>
My brother in law took tons of pictures in several spots. I'll be passing some to Bruce for the DRIFT article but if you like to see if you are in the pictures pm me with your car details.

The photographer was quite an artist. As soon as I can figure out how to get the pics off the disc and on to the net I have a cool one of the WW.

It was great seeing people I have not seen in a while, as well as meeting new drivers!
I would also like to thank everyone who offered their advice. I also appreciate everyone being patient with my being slow in a fast car. Everyone passed me with courtesy and I watched how you drove so I could improve my skills.
This was my first time to Mont Tremblant and I liked the track almost as much as Calabogie. It was nice having the lake, during some down time I went over and caught two fish in 20 minutes.
If I do not make it to NHIS this year then I will see everyone in 2009.

WHAT??? I left to give TLC to the family early so I did not see the results ...
I am not surprised... Rob trold me he was turning 2:08 and 2:09s ... I could not beat that because of my 3rd gear popping out.
Congratulations Rob!!! =D> \:D/
It's not the Miata having the track record... it's a 35 year old car that you guys are chasing to break it's record... think about that

Expect a Drift soon. Any member with a short article or photos should email them to me at bruce at brucesallen dot com.
The pro photographer, Pierre Goyette has given me 500 Mb of photos for use in the Drift. They are great! So, if you did not get a chance to look through his shots, email him at
pierre.goyette@gmail.com. Describe your car and list its number and run group for the two days and he will email you some proofs.

I had a great time as well. It was my first event with com but it was fun, i was not able to make tuesday due to some teething issues with the car, but i will be at mosport. can't wait

4.10 gears? At Mosport? Hhhhmmmm. me thinks you may be maxxed out 3/4 of the way down the back straight?

Nothing wrong with 4.11 gears as long as your final gear is high enough (or you can turn enough RPM). I'm running 4.44's - 5th gear is .780 however and my redline is something like 8,500 RPM - though I keep it around 7,500 to avoid another incident as happened at Mosport a few years ago.

You are correct Keith. We are talking 1:00 high gear in the T56 tranny, (correct me if I am mistaken) and the LS6 makes about 7000 rpm at red line, so it will be maxxed out.

hey guys, final drive in a t-56 is .50-1, a t-56 is a 6 speed
4th is 1-1 ,5th is .80 and 6th is .50
i have a 9inch rear end which has removable center sections and i have other center sections with 373 and .389 gears inthem, so maybe i will throw the 3.89 center section in.
i also will have a fabbed alum front splitter/spoiler with removable lip on the front
what kind of speeds can you see down the front stretch?

A T-56 and a 4.10 is perfectly fine for track days. Its a bit much for daily driving, but tolerable. I ran the same ratio in my LS1 RX7 and made it to Tremblant on one tank of gas. I could also start in 3rd gear without a problem, and found it much easier to just use 2nd, 4th, and 6th when cruising around.
