We don't need no stinkin' rev limits. ;o)
For what it is worth, having dynoed several Miatas, I can say that the factory rev limit is as low as 7000 RPM for some model years, and that the tachs go from off to way off at 6000 RPMs and higher.

Here's another set of pics from the event... (Thanks Melanie!)

Sorry for the miata bias...
Will,
very nice video setup! I saw you stick the stickypod dash model on your windshield (and not the dash itself), is there any particular reason, other than the hole in the dash where your airbag was? Do you think that the dash model is sufficient/overkill?

Wow, there are some good shots in that set! Thanks for taking them and sharing them!
Were all of the photos taken from the paddock area? I was trying to figure out how Melanie was able to get photos of Temptation?!?!

Great pics Fred (& Melanie!), and thanks for sharing. :thumbleft:
Mounting to the dash in my car is not an option. I think the Dash model is the minimum required to get the camera mounted solidly in the race car. Even then, the vibrations shake some of the suction cups loose, but I've not had them fall. I should probably clean the windshield and suction cups again. The 2 knuckles and 2 3" extensions included in the Dash kit are required to mount and point the camera the way I have it.
My car is a violent environment. Mounting the camera via the suction cups to the windshield seems to all be eliminate the vibrations. Had I mounted the camera to the rollcage, I think the video would be significantly more unstable, and the vibrations would probably kill the camera.

Wow- those pics are what I'm talking about. I hope you don't mind me using a few for the Drift.

Yep, that's what you get with a Canon D40 and $3000 in add ons!

$3000??? I wish!
It was a team effort, with Melanie's camera and my lens. Feel free to use at will, if someone wants higher quality pics of a few ones, I can attempt to supply them by e-mail (warning, large file size).
Of course Melanie gets all the credit for the pics because she was actually patient enough to take them, while we all having fun out on track.

Rather than mucky up the db sticky thread thought I would relate my comment here:
The folks at Calabogie were very generous with their db rules this year. Marks AMC Javelin was tested right before my car and cracked a 100.2. They let him go with a smile and a nod. By comparison, the Grocery Getter tested at 87 db, they laughed at me!

When my stealth Miata didn't crack 75 dB, they very sternly informed me that they would need to fail the car for being too quiet.
