I used to like the short course we ran in '95. That fast turn off the oval into the infield was fun. I also clinched my first SPA championship there beating Pete Poli by 1/10 sec.brucesallen wrote:we used to. gave it up. I also try to avoid it in SCCA.enjoythemusic wrote:
Poco was boring, should been smoking a cigar during the race and installed cup holders in the F2000 for the occasions beverage. Hope COM never does Poco.

Yeah, decided to buy a garage, found garage 7 has NOWHERE to put your trailer close by (WTF). Did a slowish 1:41:681 and this is my very first time there ever, could probably cut another 2 seconds off that easy next time. Complained to two REs the first night as there was no brake boards at T1. On day two still no brake boards, so complained to Cheif Stewart, this was hours before lunch as we were racing after lunch. Nope, no boards after lunch.brucesallen wrote:try to avoid it in SCCA.
Talk about being bored out of your mind from the back bus stop to a while after start/finish... (Humor) Think next time i'll wear those 'movie screen LCD glasses' and watch Grand Prix on DVD while racing at Poco.
Bruce, you were right about Poco. Can you please forgive me for going to that hole?

Yea, I grabbed that room at the Calabogie Motor Inn. Thanks to Gordon for the heads up on the room cancellation. My buddy (Black 2000 Camaro Z28, ran at Watkins Glen this year) and I (Red 2005 GTO, ran at one of the NHIS events last year) are looking forward to running with COM again and trying out Calabogie.

Sam, I forget: are the gates to the paddock locked at night, and if so, do you have any idea how long they will be open after 8:00?chaos4NH wrote:AS of today, I find we will not be able to get into the track and park vehicles until 800 PM, Sunday, May 25. The event before us is a huge 3 day motorcycle shindig, and cannot be cleared for us until 800 PM.
I'll be trying to get there Sunday around 8:00 or a little before to set up camp, but you never know, and I'd like to know how much I should panic if I'm late.

Also --If anyone is stuck without a bed--my roomie did not sign up for the event, so...... I have an empty Queen size bed if needed. I snore and do not smoke.

Box Lunches at Calabogie
Calabogie does not have any food service on-site. We are making arrangements with Murphys Landing to provide Box Lunches at Calabogie on Monday & Tuesday. We will have a menu selection form available at registration each morning and lunch will be delivered at noon.

With Joe, Ted and me that makes 3 STi's. Any more? Poor show on the registrations. Something to do with the price of gas?
Thanks for the pointer to the local gas, Gordon. Guess I won't need that second gas can after all.
I used points for the Best Western in Renfrew on Sunday & Monday nights. Only king rooms left, so if anyone needs a piece of floor 20 minutes from the track let me know.
Cheers,
Mike
