Urgent NHIS4 Announcement

Post by xstar » Fri Oct 19, 2007 9:41 am

Summary:

1) NO early registration on Friday (October 19) evening.
2) NO camping at NHIS the night of Friday (October 19).
3) Registration opens at 7AM Saturday (October 20).
4) Please DO NOT directly engage/communicate with track employees at any track.
5) Children and pets must remain in the in-field and remain under supervision at all times.

For details, please continue reading.

Registered participants for the October NHIS event on October 20th and 21st should be aware that there will not be camping available Friday evening (October 19) at NHIS.

The registration window at NHIS will be open Saturday and Sunday mornings from 7:00 AM until 8:00 AM. Garage rentals will also be available during these registration times. People should not occupy any garage space until they have signed up and paid for a garage.

The loss of camping and Friday night registration is a result of NHIS withdrawing their usual accommodation and reverting to strict contract terms. This was caused by an incident at the last NHIS event where a COM member apparently verbally abused an NHIS employee at the front gate.

While we do not have much detail on this incident, we would strongly advise COM members not to directly engage track employees at any of our tracks. If you have a concern about event operations, speak to a COM officer or chief and let them attempt to resolve it on your behalf. Also, please do not call tracks directly for information about COM events. If you have questions, call or e-mail a COM officer or use the forums.

Lastly and most importantly, children and pets must remain under adult supervision at all times. Children and pets must also strictly remain in the in-field section of NHIS. While we understand that track events are often family-gathering activities for many, unsupervised children and pets around the paddock and the track can create hazardous situations for all parties involved. COM officers will be monitoring the in-field closely. Any lack of supervision of children or pets will cause the track to be stopped until the responsible adult can be found by the COM officers.
