Re: WTB BMW E36 front struts

Scott, I have a pair out of my 1998 318Ti since I put new Bilstein versions in. They have dampers still in them and the springs. I have no idea what they are worth but they are available. Sitting on my garage floor in boxes. Make me any offer and I'll probably take it or I see you have a Ti.... Any ...

Re: PA or T100 for my street V8 RX-7, rules gripes...

This is a great conversation. P is the only class I've ever been in since running with COM. I totally get it. I like the freedom to do whatever I want on the car. When I bring my T50 Miata to an event, I run in PC because I can't be bothered with all that paper work for T. :) My thoughts: SP should...

Re: PA or T100 for my street V8 RX-7, rules gripes...

It may not be as apparent at the away events, but if you come to a NHMS event where there are bigger fields in SP and P it becomes more noticeable. The majority of people in Prepared have not built their car to run in Prepared. They build it for the sake of building it or they have built it to run ...

Re: PA or T100 for my street V8 RX-7, rules gripes...

I do not understand why it is believed the Prepared rules are broken? Its perfect in its simplicity. They can mess up or "fix" all the other classes,,, why cant we just leave Prepared alone? It should at least be put to a vote by those who actually compete in the class,,, not by people who...

Re: PA or T100 for my street V8 RX-7, rules gripes...

Because while engine swaps from any manufacturer are allowed in SP, they must have the same cylinder count. Rotaries count as 4 cylinders, so V8 ist strictly verboten! Unless your car is a tube-framed kit car, in which case run what you want! No logic... I have not read the SP rules in ages, but th...

Re: PA or T100 for my street V8 RX-7, rules gripes...

I'm fine with keeping the Street Prepared/Prepared classes, just think I should be in SPA and not PA. I completely missed that point of your post,,, and now reading it in context my brain grasped,,, I would agree with you. If SPA is V8 "street prepared" cars, and yours is a V8 "stree...

Re: PA or T100 for my street V8 RX-7, rules gripes...

FTR, car weighed 2983 lb. with 3/4 tank (20 gal. tank), should be ~2890 lb. empty. Or about 50-100 lb. more than a stock '94 RX-7. Where are you getting 2400 lb for an FD chassis? I guess if it were totally gutted. Mine has full interior, A/C, sound deadening, etc. So far, it is no faster than my o...

Re: PA or T100 for my street V8 RX-7, rules gripes...

Just so I am clear,,, you put a 500 HP V8, into a ~2400lb chassis and are complaining about your classing being at the top of the classing scale? Its remarkable that it still fits into T100 (which essentially confirms my bitch that these calculator rulesets are flawed). If I tried to fit my car into...

LOL true,,, I can't ever imagine a world where I take a part off my car unless it (a) makes it lighter, (b) is being replaced by a better one.
Context is everything
Long live Prepared haha.

Re: Anybody else planning on running their cars on Street ti

I want to be clear my post was not directed at Nick,,, it was more the overall mindset. I realize people do what they have to to participate in this hobby and not everyone has the luxury of a trailer. That is a long time ago for me (i'm old) so I do apologize that sometimes I forget what had to be d...

Re: Anybody else planning on running their cars on Street ti

I know this has been discussed ad-infinitum but I have to ask,,, I gotta... Why would anyone develop a points system that takes experienced track people,,, and sends them backward to street tires. After all the years of driving some people in this club have amassed,,, and doing it on proper track ti...

Re: Thompson Speedway in CT

See,,, I love racing at the Glen,,, its so wide, there are so many useable lines,,, you can place the car alot of places and still be fast. Plus the option of the long course vs. short is fun too. The short (NASCAR) course is more fun than I thought it would be. For me I never even notice the guardr...
