Re: Question about base assessment for car not on list

I looked on the "starting list" in the (proposed) Touring classification system to place a non SVT Focus and could not find anything..the "old" rules use to put them in SSC I believe. SSC: "Ford Mustang all 4cyl and 6cyl NOC, Mustang SVO, Mustang 1969-73 V8 under 350ci, Mus...

Re: Latch vs camlock

I started with the cam style. I've gone to the latch & link because they're so much cheaper $70 vs $140 or more for the cam. I don't think it's that much harder to belt in and i hate spending more money since we've decided this is a throw away item. It's probably easier to release too. When they...

Re: COMSCC and OTA

I did run with them on Saturday lapping. They accepted my COM license for running without instructor. I had a great time. Very friendly people. They had a "gator lapping" session during lunch where you could take passengers and no helmets were required. Ran up to 100mph on the long straigh...

Re: Miatas, WGI Bus stop, Turtles and pad knock back

Floating calipers should not suffer from piston knock back. Why not? Are you saying that it should be less of an issue, or that it's not possible? In theory, the caliper should move side to side so it wouldn't be as bad. If you guys say it still happens i believe you. I wonder if greasing the bolt ...

Re: Miatas, WGI Bus stop, Turtles and pad knock back

Floating calipers should not suffer from piston knock back. It's definitely a problem for fixed calipers. Wilwood makes a 2lb (blue) resiual pressure valve that helps with this. It's a bit like holding your foot on the brake. It holds 2 pounds pressure on the caliper at all times so the piston resis...

Re: Helmets

The below is from the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Racetrack Regulations Chapter 62 of NJ law. Apparently the state regulates and mandates private racing! ?? They allow a M rated helmet when fire ratings are not required at events. Would our event require a fire rating? We always allow M helmets. This l...

Realize Canada is a sovereign nation (some of you think it's a US state eh?) and as such they have the say as to whom gets into their country. I've crossed many times and never had a problem before. My point is NOW they have a database and things could be different so i'm just giving you guys a hea...

Canada has Nazis

I crossed at the rainbow bridge last Wednesday and ran into a Canadian Nazi. The crossing shack guy gave me a yellow sheet and said go inside. I spoke with a dude sitting behind a computer terminal wearing the biggest friggin flack jacket i've ever seen. He asks a bunch of questions in rapid fire se...

There will probably come a day when old cars or any car with mods whatsoever will be banned from the road. The semi-cool thing that's happening by the end of 2008 is that in MA. there will be no more dyno-testing for smog tests. If you are driving a pre-1996 vehicle, it will not go on the rollers a...
